Critic Reviews for Sigi - A Fart for Melusina

There is some enjoyment to be had in Sigi – A Fart for Melusina, but that fun quickly dissipates when you begin to feel like an unstoppable force in every level, including boss stages. Searching for hidden caves and grabbing a few hard to reach items definitely adds entertainment value, but the brief 20 level experience is made even shorter by a serious lack of truly fulfilling gameplay.

It never once overstays its welcome, and for however long it takes you to beat it, it’s a genuine blast. You just can’t help but wish there was a little bit more of it

But if you were even vaguely interested in this game, I'd recommend it. It's fun to play and not a huge commitment, so you can indulge in a little platforming for an hour.

Sigi: A Fart for Melusina is a short but charming game on Nintendo Switch that you're going to get a kick out of playing. The game's pixel art style and its music will send you back to an old-school era, with the refinements you'd expect from a 21st-century game. While you can play the game docked on the big screen, I think it plays and feels better when enjoyed in handheld mode, and since it's only 20 levels long, it's the perfect game for you to play on the go. I have no real complaints about the game other than I wish there were more levels to play, so hopefully the team works on a sequel!

The absolute bare minimum of effort was put into Sigi – A Fart of Melusina. The game is uninspired, and there are countless other platformers that would be a better use of your time.

Imagine, for a brief, painful moment that Sigi: A Fart for Melusina is an actual fart. What kind of fart would it be? Luckily, it's not one of those disgusting, watery-ones - sadly, it's not one of those glorious, last-night-I-ate-like-a-bison, volume turned-to-11 ones either. This generic action-platformer is just a boring, scentless, barely heard fart… and not even a funny one.

Overall is Sigi – A Fart for Melusina a good game, well that's debatable. It's easy with some tougher bosses and can be completed quickly. That being said $5 on the eShop, so that does dictate what you are getting. If you are looking for a Ghosts 'n Goblins like (although way less difficult), then this could be worth your $5.

Some might admire the fact that Sigi doesn't linger, but with a difficulty level that stays low and doesn't ramp up until the very last boss fight, there just won't be enough here for most players to justify a purchase.
