Octahedron Reviews
Octahedron is an unconventional 2D platformer with clever level design centred around an innovative core idea. The controls are very simple but can take some adjusting, especially when your allowance of platforms changes from level to level. However, the stages introduce some great mechanics that make you use your platforms for more than just makeshift floors. If you're looking for a platformer with a difference, Octahedron offers up an accessible, intelligent, and challenging game with more ups than downs.
Octahedron has a brutal difficulty curve but is also incredibly rewarding if you give it the time it needs
Every level has been given the kind of pixel-perfect love that the genre’s greatest have received, every jump inch perfect and every puzzle a challenge without becoming frustrating at any point. In fact, the game’s difficulty ramps up so steadily and doles out new concepts at such an ideal pace that no death feels cheap and yet no victory feels unearned.
Indie games have shown the value of smaller studios making unique games beholden only to their vision and not the economic constraints of AAA development, and Demimonde's Octahedron now stands shoulder to shoulder with the best of them, thanks to an amazing soundtrack, creative level design and presentation, and singular vision.
Octahedron gets more mileage than you'd think out of the ability to summon platforms beneath your feet.
Octahedron is a unique platformer that really does something different in the genre. The dependence on creating your own platforms and facing a whole variety of different hazards leaves the game feeling varied throughout, whilst the psychedelic visuals and slick 60fps framerate remain a treat on the eyes too – even if they can become a little repetitive over time. Best of all though is that the game is just a hell of a lot of fun to play. Its clever ideas are accessible and easy to pull off throughout, and whilst there are a fair few difficulty spikes that can be frustrating, they don’t stop Octahedron from being enjoyable from the start to the end.
While I can see some gamers getting frustrated when the difficulty first spikes, those who stick with it will be rewarded with dynamic gameplay and visual and auditory delights.
With accelerated pace and plenty of challenge, Octahedron tries to innovate among several other platform games and gets some merit, even with problems in gameplay, inaccurate commands and a not so much creative visual.

Octahedron is quite the spectacle to look at with its colorful visuals and unmatched style in the platforming genre. While the gameplay isn't exactly revolutionary, this is still an enjoyable indie title that you can keep coming back to if you need some something exciting in your life.
Octahedron is a delightful puzzle platformer with the best soundtrack of the year.
With almost 50 levels, multiple difficulties, and four medals to unlock in each stage, Octahedron has enough content to keep players busy for hours.
Octahedron is a great platforming experience with a unique identity, style, and gameplay. Its dozens upon dozens of levels are a tiny bit on the short side, but mastering those challenges is what kept me coming back for more. It's one of the more distinct offerings as part of the Square Enix Collective and is something of a hidden gem.
Octahedron is a kind of platform in which the use of power to create platforms is very important and in which music has a great presence. In addition, the gameplay along with the amount of hours the game can offer us make Octahedron go beyond being a simple game to become a continuous challenge level by level.

Octahedron is a flashy, but difficult platformer that appeals to casual platforming fans in addition to completionists.
OCTAHEDRON is a treat for the eyes and the ears, and its vibrant rhythm guides you through its platforms.
All in all, it’s a fairly simple game with mechanics that works well enough as long as you don’t have two left thumbs and trigger fingers because coordination is one of the key aspects to learning this simple yet unique game.
Octahedron can take a while to click, but once you're past the early stages and get over the denial of your abilities it really surprises with its inventiveness.
