Though far from an unqualified success, it nevertheless proves itself a surprisingly nuanced and less-surprisingly addictive sports title overflowing with personality.
As long as the online keeps running well, Mario Tennis Aces will be worth revisiting. I still have my concerns of the new mechanics being a little too focused on the ability to block, but Mario's grand sports return has more than enough good in it to make up for smaller miscues like that. This is an encouraging return to form for Camelot.

It's-a back? Mario Tennis Aces on the Switch gets the series back on the right track after the less than stellar Ultra Smash for the Wii U. It admittedly has issues with balance and the campaign could be more fleshed out. Fun features, however, combined with solid base mechanics, a nice roster list and Nintendo's efforts to patch and address problems post-launch make Aces a worthy addition to Nintendo's tennis franchise. Series fans will definitely want to check it out.

A game that is almost great but manages to forget everything about the details to become a masterpiece. Mario Tennis Aces could have been much better with a ton more of possibilities, but as it is is a great game to play with friends.

Mario Tennis Aces has some of the best gameplay mechanics that we have ever seen in a tennis game. It's fun, balanced and fair, making this game a potential multiplayer success. However, the lack of single player content and a dedicated competitive system makes this launch kind of incomplete.

Dripping with Mario styled graphic colours, and featuring all of Mario's favourite friends and foes in typically Mario styled settings, Mario Tennis Aces is an extremely fun arcade tennis experience for both the serious and not so serious among us. Solid tennis mechanics underneath a playful and entertaining surface means that this will quickly become a fan favourite when friends come around. While the simple single-player mode is somewhat varied, the lack of depth will eventually find the game running out of steam. But the frantic tennis fun with friends makes this a must have title for any Nintendo Switch owner.

This is a safe bet for those who want to enjoy an arcade sport video game this summer, with the security of having hours and hours of fun with friends, whether accompanied with them in the same room or in the distance. In addition, the diversity of characters with very different characteristics from each other make each type of player can find the game that best suits you, with the assurance that there is no inequality between them and that everything depends on our ability. A game that can be enjoyed both alone but that will fully enjoy its multiplayer side.

Mario Tennis Aces is another great arcade tennis game in the Mario Tennis franchise. It’s an absolute joy to play and it’s gameplay feels fun, rewarding and has a good balance of accessible fun and challenging difficulty, for the most part. While I would have loved a longer single player campaign and more to do after I had finished it, it’s multiplayer mode will offer near endless enjoyment for those that enjoy playing online whether that be casually or competitively. Fingers crossed we get some new characters, courts and rackets to unlock down the line.
Be that as it may, I've booted up Mario Tennis Aces every single night since I got it, and it always makes me lose track of time. Missing options aside, I can't deny that this is the most fun I've had playing a tennis game since I was a kid, and I can guarantee that you and your friends will get serious mileage out of it.
Mario Tennis Aces may well feature the best mechanics the series has seen to date, its new Zone manoeuvres and Trick Shots adding an exciting, madcap layer of depth to the sport. While Adventure isn’t the big single player hook I’d have hoped and some options feel a little too stripped down, it’s the game’s multiplayer that will keep this title a firm favourite for months to come. Despite a few niggling issues Mario Tennis Aces is a great return to the best parts of the franchise. Gameplay is smooth, strategic and fun. And with story, tournament and multiplayer modes all available it is sure to bring a lot of fun to longtime fans and new players alike. It's almost all strawberries and cream, and although it may not quite be a perfect Love, Love yet, it is most definitely already a lot Like, Love.
Mario Tennis Aces provides a tennis-themed Mario game with an in-depth gameplay system that has the potential to hook you for hours. While it won’t satisfy single-player gamers, the basic gameplay portion of Mario Tennis Aces can keep you looking for matches online for some time.
Big Sport titles usually hit the market during the fall season and its hard to find any remarkable sport games during other times of the year. But Nintendo fans should be happy now, as Mario Tennis Aces, despite having minor problems, manages to fill this gap for Nintendo Switch. Mario Tennis Aces is currently the best Tennis game of the generation and is surely one of the better sport titles on Nintendo Switch.
