Odium is a small but well crafted game, full of pressing music and high difficulty. The very hard challenge and the heavy rhythm of techno music could be frustrating for some players.

Odium to the Core is an interesting single-button, music-based challenge. The controls gave the game a solid difficulty level, though while the art and music were fun and unique, I was only able to take it in small doses.

The developers will likely not appreciate the comparison, but this is like a stylish drum and bass-centric Flappy Bird. That alone should establish just who the audience is. It's a frustrating, maddening experience that will find a niche audience that just loves punishment, but is certainly not for everyone - or even for many.

Overall, Odium to the Core feels like a tried and true single-button game.

I really enjoyed playing Odium To the Core, it’s one of those games that has a high level of replayability. It’s a game that just flows, as does time. So, five minutes will quickly become twenty, then an hour if you’re not careful. It’s fun yet simplistic, the level design is fantastic and the music throughout…. well just put a pair of headphones on, crank up the volume and have fun.

This is absolutely a title for people who enjoy some pretty extreme challenges and can deal with the frustrations that come along for the ride. It’s not terribly expensive, has a fantastic look, and sports a pretty killer soundtrack. Just to go with its control simplicity is a fair amount of aggravation so it isn’t something I could recommend to just anyone without providing a fair amount of warning.

“Odium” is a remarkably accurate name for a game like this, as its inadequate controls and constant stream of cheap shots conspire to turn certain levels into a maddeningly Sisyphean experience bound to infuriate anyone who values their time.
