Assassin's Creed Odyssey: Legacy of the First Blade - Episode 2: Shadow Heritage Reviews
Legacy of the First Blade's second episode, Shadow Heritage, is a familiar but engaging next chapter of Odyssey.
When the writers of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey decided to suddenly turn Kassandra into a housewife, they betrayed the person they’d spent so much time and care creating. They made her into a cutout for a hackneyed plot.
Shadow Heritage is slightly more fun to play than Hunted was, but some weird narrative decisions undo a lot of the character progression from the main campaign and totally expose the illusion of player choice
Yet, Shadow Heritage is more Assassin's Creed Odyssey and I'm absolutely going to take it as we wade through an AC-less 2019.
Shadow Heritage is another fine addition to Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
With this second episode, The Legacy of the First Blade knifes all the roleplay Ubisoft spent dozens of hours to build in a three-hour short and highly questionable story. Even the great battleships and a brand new weapon wil not save Assassin's Creed Odyssey from this wrongly twisted cliffhanger that might disappoint most adventurers out there.

Shadow Heritage continues the style set by the first episode, with a new Order to hunt down, a continued story with Darius and his son/daughter and new goodies te play with. The new Order isn't as intimidating however and the story-area is quite small.

Episode 1 of Assassin's Creed Odyssey Legacy of the First Blade was stale and uneventful, leaving players underwhelmed. Fortunately, Episode 2 Shadow Heritage does a better job of not only raising the stakes of what's to come but ends on a high note. The varied mission structure, new weapon, and cliffhanger ending improve on the issues left behind by Hunted while also setting up for the finale.
Two words can sum up Shadow Heritage, messy and forced.
