This is the same game we enjoyed four years ago in Wii U. A perfect mix between puzzles and platforms, which includes four new Super Mario Odyssey inspired levels and a new (pretty basic) coop mode.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a great expansion on the concept of the mini-games from Super Mario 3D World. Unfortunately, despite a lower starting price it never offers enough new elements to become truly great. You'll still enjoy every second you spend in this bright and colorful world though.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker isn't going to blow minds with its humble presentation and laid back puzzling, but it's still got plenty of imagination and some really sagacious architecture in its level structure. There are moments that tread water, but overall this is a smart puzzler that ought to appeal to most folks. You can't really say fairer than that.

Perhaps in the coming years, we'll start to see more games like this: smaller, mid-priced experiments and spin-offs made with that familiar level of polish and care for which the publisher is rightly famed. Even if Treasure Tracker arguably never quite reaches its full potential, surely few would argue with this line of thinking. Indeed, its central mechanic feels rather like a statement in itself; perhaps this is Nintendo's way of motivating its designers and players alike to embrace the idea of approaching the familiar from a fresh perspective.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker might come at a slower pace than Mario, but it's a platformer that's often just as endearing.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a marvelous puzzle game that stretches its initial value well beyond what I had anticipated. It will take players a hefty amount of time to master it all, and the game does a fantastic job of making you want to see and do everything. It is rare for a puzzle game to see this kind of release, and especially one of this quality.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker on a Nintendo Switch is a fascinating collection of nice puzzles with beautiful graphics, which lacks additional levels with bosses and a more interesting story. If you haven't played it on the WiiU, then it definitely worth trying.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is one of the most delightfully charming puzzle games of in recent memory and the dollhouse-style puzzle boxes are wonderful to explore and it's cute and adorable all the way through. Sadly, Wii U owners will find few reasons to pick up this edition of the game, but anyone who hasn't already played Captain Toad will find a puzzle game they'll finish and just want more of.

Its blend of platforms and puzzles and the way the game was spawned from Super Mario 3D World are very well executed and the overall atmosphere of the title is extremely creative and likely to keep players around it for a long time.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a game no one asked for. There aren\'t many out there who thought, \"You know what Nintendo should do? They should make a Mario spin-off puzzle game filled with tiny levels where you can\'t jump. You would, of course, control the mushroom guy who tells you the princess is in another castle. He\'s everybody\'s favorite character, after all!\" So naturally, despite the odd concept, the team at EAD Tokyo made something absolutely magnificent out of it anyways.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a polished little gem, but the word "little" is key. While not brimming with content (it clocks in at about 7 hours), its brain-bending stages are a welcome dose of EAD Tokyo goodness, even if it does lack co-op. Short but sweet, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker isn't a must-play, but you're unlikely to regret buying it.
