While not as horrible as the Professor's pets, overly fiddly controls mar an otherwise decent puzzle adventure.

Professor Lupo and His Horrible Game has a lot of creativity and humour, but it is let down by its clunky controls.

While a few levels can be frustrating, the rest of the game's ingenuity, cleverness, and execution more than make up for it. If you're willing to go through the initial slog, Professor Lupo has something truly special in store for you.

Fans of puzzle games looking for a new challenge may find something to enjoy here. Casual puzzlers will probably be better served to pass on this one or wait for its inevitable inclusion in a future indie bundle.

Professor Lupo and his Horrible Pets is definitely a novel take on the puzzle genre, and it manages to design some clever and creative levels to keep players engaged long after the novelty wears off. It’s not the best choice for people who just wanna solve puzzles, but if you like a mix of reflex-based action and puzzle gameplay, you’ll like this one.

This is a fun and varied game, although not especially striking, appealing to a small group of players. If you are one of those players that like puzzle games, then don't wait any longer.

Overall, Professor Lupo and his Horrible Pets was a great puzzle game with a lot of nods to other games and movies, full of challenging quirky puzzles, a self-writing review, and enough bonus tasks to keep you fellow puzzle masochists happy. The story may be rather cliché, but it was written really well, and the quirky interactions and multitude of stages more than make up for it. If you’ve been craving a puzzle game to scratch that brain frying itch, look no further than Professor Lupo and his Horrible Pets.

Those looking for a challenge, won’t be disappointed, it’s a game that balances challenge to mastery, allowing players to feel a sense of accomplishment with the completion of each and every level. As someone who thoroughly enjoyed 90s games of this style such as The Dig, I wasn’t disappointed, and to be honest, I’m still going back and giving it another chance while trying to obtain every single collectible in the game.

PLahHP is an enjoyable puzzle title with enough twists and turns in both the plot and gameplay to keep the player engaged for its relatively short run-time. What first seems like a simple concept is expanded with the introduction of characters with questionable motives and interesting new mechanics which change up the pace considerably. The game is not without its flaws but I found the combination of tricky puzzles and (very) light sci-fi horror quite satisfying. A quick glance over BeautiFun Games’ Twitter shows the enthusiasm and passion they have for this project, which is always heartening to see. In a sequel, I would like to see more of a focus on visuals and atmosphere, and with a bit more polish with regards to the script and voice-acting. I advise you to check out some gameplay footage as I suspect quick glance will tell you if this game is for you. Much like Professor Lupo’s pets, I found it quite hard to put down. I will be awarding it the Thumb Culture Silver award!
