A great and enjoyable game, it took me back to the 90s and it got me excited to replay the game with different characters. However, I don't think i can accept a similar approach to development if done again in the future, the game had minor improvements in gameplay and characters mechanics, the game needs major developments and huge jumps in mechanics as it did before in other Beat 'em up games in the 90s, specifically, the second game of the franchise.

Streets of Rage 4 is a welcome return for a classic franchise. Hardcore fans of the series are likely to be smitten with the amount of fan service and love that has gone in to this and rightly so. In not overhauling the game further though it may lose some appeal with new gamers.

Streets of Rage 4 marks a superb return of the famed franchise, with the stylish combat, the slick visuals, and the nostalgic charm proving incredible throughout. The story mode is a little short in length and a few tough difficulty spikes caught me off guard, but it’s still packed to the brim with enough unlockables to keep you hooked in for a long, long time – well… provided you’ve got some friends to experience it with over and over again, that is. Whether you’re a new face to these deadly streets or a returning fan that wants to dish out some more beatings, you’re going to have one HELL of a good time playing Streets of Rage 4.

Streets of Rage 4 didn’t need to reinvent the formula; it just needed to expand upon it. There are some great changes here that help elevate the gameplay and combat, but the bland story and environments drag it down a bit. These things won’t deter those looking for a new Streets of Rage entry, especially one that has such great combat.

Streets Of Rage 4 brings back the retro franchise in such a masterful way that it can convert modern gamers into hardcore fans of old-school beat 'em ups. With that said, it's still a bit too dated in some regards although it remains a heck of a lot of fun.

Streets of Rage 4 is a return to the origins with a renewed design and new mechanics that were missed in previous games. If you like beat'em up, you will love this game. Despite the short duration of story mode, it's replayable if we want to get all the available characters or challenge ourselves to finish arcade mode. In addition, the multiplayer section gives you an extra to play the game with your friends.

Streets of Rage 4 is the perfect sequel, it builds upon the original trilogy whilst modernising it without alienating fans. Visually the game is gorgeous, all hand-drawn with brilliant lighting effects, visual styles, character designs, and original pixel-art protagonists and special moves. The music is just as good as I remember it, allowing you to alternate between the new music or classic tunes, this really is the perfect homage to the infamous Mega Drive games. Although not a very long game, you’ll get hours of entertainment out of Streets of Rage 4 thanks to the satisfying combat and progression-based rewards.
