With only three modes to choose from, we wish there was a bit more meat on Boomerang Fu’s bones.

I really can't recommend Boomerang Fu enough. At $14.99, it packs a lot of replay value and is one of the stand-out multiplayer games on the Switch. I'd put it up there with other great indie multiplayer co-op games like the Overcooked series and Moving Out (Check out our Overcooked review). If you're looking for a great, local multiplayer title to play with some friends/family, definitely check out Boomerang Fu.

All in all, Boomerang Fu is undeniably fun for short periods of time. The characters, levels, and music is cute, the surprisingly violent killing is satisfying, and it is definitely worth a laugh or two. It put me in a good mood. I would only struggle to recommend it because of its lack of online play. Cranky Watermelon wants to bring people together, so the timing of this release is the exact opposite of ideal, and most gaming households won't have enough controllers or players to make up for that.

Boomerang Fu is a small game, it has no big claims and doesn't want to revolutionize anything, it just wants to color a few evenings and make people smile in company. It is a classic party game that you can dust off countless times and that lends itself to all types of players, making it an excellent companion for some fun in a group.

You may not be playing this hardcore in solo or even with friends but it is a game that should be in your multiplayer bundle and is a ton of fun with friends even if the actual game part is somewhat lacking.

It’s the gaming equivalent of a bag of Original Smiths chips – if you bring it to a party you’re not going to blow anyone’s mind, but everyone’s going to want at least a handful.

Though a lack of online play does hurt the game a bit, Boomerang Fu is a very simple and fun multiplayer game that anyone can easily jump into and enjoy.

Boomerang Fu is a fun little brawler, packing depth and style in equal measure. It’s let down by a lack of online multiplayer, but if you can get a few people together, then this is absolutely worth booting up from time to time.
