Monster Hunter Wilds has enjoyed a record-breaking start to life. It quickly netted fifth place in Steam's highest concurrent player count charts, with almost 1.4 million players jumping in around launch. Capcom also just announced that the game had sold over eight million copies in just three days, becoming the fastest-selling title in the company's storied history.

Despite some glaring issues on PC, which caused it to launch with "Mixed" reviews on Steam, Monster Hunter Wilds has been lauded by critics, including scoring a 4.5/5 from us here at TheGamer.
Bizarrely, these glowing reviews have meant that both Monster Hunter Wilds and Monster Hunter World have picked up the exact same review scores across all platforms on Metacritic.
On Metacritic, both Monster Hunter Wilds and Monster Hunter Worlds sit with a score of 90. There's nothing strange about that; plenty of games score a 90 on the aggregation platform. However, in a strange coincidence, when you drill down into the platform-specific review scores, both Wilds and World are completely parallel.
