Development work on the Switch 2 port of looter-shooter Borderlands 4 has been halted indefinitely, according to Take-Two, so if you're waiting to check the game out on Nintendo's new machine, you may want to look elsewhere instead.
The release of the game's Switch 2 version was indefinitely delayed back in September, but as far as we knew, developer Gearbox was still working on the port. Now, however, according to Variety, that's no longer the case.
Take-Two spokesman Alan Lewis told Variety that the company has made the "difficult decision" to pause development on Borderlands 4 for Switch 2, but that "post-launch content" and "ongoing improvements to optimize the game" on other platforms are still a priority.
Other Take-Two Switch 2 releases, like upcoming sports titles PGA Tour 2K25 and WWE 2K26, are unaffected, of course, but Borderlands 4 probably isn't going to be making an appearance on the console anytime soon.
Of course, given the game's well-documented performance woes on PC (whatever Gearbox head Randy Pitchford might say), it's not really a surprise that Take-Two doesn't seem to have been able to arrive at a satisfactory Switch 2 port for...
