Fortnite remains gigantic. Make no mistake, and don't misinterpret. It's a cultural phenomenon even now, coming up on nine years after its original launch. Kids talk about it all the time. Adults can't get enough of it, either. But it's slowed down somewhat; we now have data to demonstrate that fact.
In 2025, first-party games on the Epic Games Store dipped 14 percent. Fortnite was coming off a super-hot 2024, and 14 percent down from basically any year Fortnite's been on the market is still the sort of envy-inducing dream world for every live-service title not named Roblox that it's more or less always been.
