I have mixed feelings about how Pokemon handled certain legendaries (mostly mythicals, really) back in the day. You see, I honestly abhor how it's done now. You just... enter limited-time promotional codes that usually plop Pokemon into your Pokedex with no further ado. But in earlier generations, you got to go to unique places! Involving Giovanni? It feels like it should have always been there, dang it. But for the vast majority of players, it never was.
All of this is to say, gosh, I sure am glad that Game Freak didn't make a big mistake with the Nintendo Switch versions of Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen. As fans have found—and VGC previously reported—both the Mystic Ticket and Aurora Ticket, which were originally linked to real-world and extremely limited events, are now yours by default.
