Marathon's server slam ended yesterday and it was sort of a mixed bag. The concurrent player count peaked at 143,621 players on Steam, but instead of climbing on the weekend, fell by almost 50 percent. While there were the usual complaints and points of feedback, the most common one was about the game's UI.
In fact, the community has already coined a term for it: Fontslop. While the devs did say that they are monitoring the UI-related feedback along with everything else, UI designer Elliott Gray has decided to embrace the Fontslop accusations. Head on over to his Twitter bio and you'll notice it says "fontslop merchant."
While Bungie has noted the feedback on the UI, Gray suggests that there won't be drastic changes to it. "All jokes aside there's plenty of work we can and will do as a team to respond to player feedback about inventory management, navigation, density of info, etc," he tweeted (thanks, PC Gamer). "But don't think for a second that we're gonna remove the SAUCE from the UI. #fontsloptakeover".
Marathon's UI is pretty bold with its neon colour scheme, but some of the text is pretty tough to read, especially in the middle...
