Crimson Desert Is Reportedly On Track For A Stronger Launch Than Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 And Clair Obscur

Crimson Desert has rather sneakily become one of this year's most highly-anticipated titles, both baffling and bewildering players with an ambitious open world full of monsters, robots, dragons, and jetpacks. Yes, jetpacks.

Crimson Desert publisher Pearl Abyss has done a pretty good job with the game's pre-launch, showcasing all its positive traits and absurdities to drum up hype. It's been a double-edged sword, as a lot of hulaballoo has been made over the game's performance on base PS5, but as for the PC fans out there, they seem to be more hyped than ever, and it's already translating to sales.

According to the analytics website Alinea, Crimson Desert has already managed to amass a whopping $20 million in revenue, with the game supposedly having already sold 400k copies on Steam alone. For $70 a pop, that's a lot of money that Pearl Abyss can put in its books before Crimson Desert has even hit storefronts, and this isn't even taking into account console pre-orders.

Alinea also points out that Crimson Desert's $20 million far exceeds that of other popular games that launched on Steam, namely Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Clair Obscur: Expediton 33....
