Counter-Strike 2 Reload Rework Casually Changes the Entire Game | TechRaptor

A new update for Counter-Strike 2 has been released, and while it might sound like there's not much to chew on, it's actually a pretty big patch that seems like it'll change the game completely.

Over on Steam, Valve says the update is designed to give Counter-Strike 2 players "plenty to think about", and its first big change will definitely do that, especially if you're a long-time devotee.

Before the update, reloading guns in Counter-Strike 2 would basically put leftover ammo "into an essentially endless reserve supply", as Valve says, but with the new update, reloading will discard all remaining ammo in your magazine. The change should add "significant trade-offs" to the act of reloading, Valve believes.

Now, reloading your gun will take a fresh magazine from your reserves whenever you do it, and each weapon will have a certain number of reserve magazines. Some will have fewer "to reward efficiency and precision", while others will have more "to encourage spamming through walls and smokes".
