Subnautica 2 Drama Continues With Early Access Release Window Challenge | TechRaptor

The Subnautica 2 legal drama continues apace, it seems, as Unknown Worlds co-founders Charlie Cleveland, Ted Gill, and Max McGuire are now objecting to a recent Early Access release window announcement.

As reported by Game File's Stephen Totilo, lawyers representing the three Subnautica devs are alleging that Krafton's announcement of a May Early Access release window for Subnautica 2 earlier this week was improper, and that it risks "damaging the game and sowing additional confusion" among players.

Said lawyers sent a letter to Delaware Court of Chancery vice chancellor Lori Will claiming that Krafton's announcement was "self-serving", and that the process of deciding when Subnautica 2 was ready for Early Access, as well as marketing the game up to release, "was supposed to be driven by [Ted] Gill".

Gill, Cleveland, and McGuire, through their lawyers, also speculate that Krafton intentionally leaked the internal memo from Unknown Worlds head Steve Papoutsis confirming the release window, with the publisher then issuing a statement to back it up.

Krafton, for its part, says there was "nothing improper" about its announcement, and that Gill can "assess independently his views on the state of Subnautica 2", going on to say that there's nothing...
