A year ago to this day, Assassin's Creed Shadows was released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, finally bringing the long-running Ubisoft franchise to its most-requested location, Japan. The game scored decently enough, earning an 81 on Metacritic, with TheGamer's George Foster awarding it a 4/5 in his review.
In the time since its release, it's received a smattering of updates, plus some post-launch DLC, as well as an eventual release on Nintendo Switch 2. If you've played Shadows and liked its blend of parkour, stealth and moment-to-moment gameplay, then we have some good news — that much is continuing on in future Assassin's Creed titles.
Leave it to Ubisoft to refuse to take a moral stand.
