Fans might have to wait a little bit longer to find out what's next for Resident Evil Requiem, as according to prominent leaker Dusk Golem, the newly-announced Code Veronica remake might actually hit store shelves before the DLC.
"Word in [sic] the grapevine is RE9 DLC is releasing after Resident Evil Veronica," Dusk Golem said. "To see how it plays out, but it's been murmured to be further out."
A lengthy gap between a Resident Evil game and its post-launch expansions wouldn't be unprecedented for Capcom. Resident Evil Village launched in May 2021, but didn't receive its major story expansion, Shadows of Rose, until October 2022 — nearly a year and a half later. If Requiem's DLC is tracking for a longer development cycle, it stands to reason that a standalone project like Veronica could slide into the schedule first.
Capcom confirmed that a story expansion was in the works on March 10, 2026 — just a few weeks after Resident Evil Requiem hit store shelves. The announcement came as part of a post-launch roadmap detailing the game's future support, which also promised a mix of free updates, such as photo mode and the 'Leon Must Die Forever'...
