Phantom Blade: Zero Director Is More Worried About The All-Consuming RAMPocalypse Than Launching Near GTA 6

GTA 6 is expected to swallow the games industry whole when it launches, so it's hardly surprising that so many developers have been exceedingly careful over announcing release dates, especially with frequent delays. But now that publisher Take-Two Interactive is confident in its November 19 date — preparing to ramp up marketing this Summer — we've seen studio after studio cram their game into September.

It's just as risky competing with a dozen other heavy-hitters as it is one Grand Theft Auto, and already, we've seen games like Valor Mortis delayed to avoid the onslaught. We'll undoubtedly see more devs follow suit as they find themselves trapped between two of the busiest months of the year, as developers contemplate sticking with September and hoping they come out on top, risking an early October launch, or brunting the cost and delaying into 2027.

Phantom Blade: Zero did none of these. Instead, it moved right next to GTA 6.
