In 2023, an unredacted Bethesda roadmap from Microsoft's internal documents leaked during the FTC case over the Activision Blizzard acquisition, revealing two unannounced projects: the Oblivion and Fallout 3 remasters. However, reports from earlier this year suggested that a New Vegas remaster had also been greenlit.
We haven't heard much on the two Fallout projects since those reports first broke, aside from when senior designer Chris Avellone expressed doubt over a New Vegas remaster ever happening — claiming that Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart refused to sell the source code to Bethesda, presenting a major hurdle. But another leaker has come forward to corroborate the rumors.
Responding to a fan on X when asked if there's "anything new about the New Vegas rumors?", reputable insider NateTheHate said, "The previous reports have merit."
It's unclear when exactly we can expect the rumored Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters to launch, but the leaked roadmap might give us some clues.
