There have been a lot of studio closures over the past few years, but one that hit the hardest was the closure of Bluepoint back in February this year. Not only did it hit Bloodborne fans right in the gut, the last hope of ever getting that fabled remake and PC port up in smoke, but it was sad to see one of the most accomplished remake studios shutting its doors for reasons out of its control.
A wave of sadness hit the industry when the news broke, and one which actually affected Ico and Shadow of the Colossus creator Fumito Ueda as well. Of course, Ueda had worked with Bluepoint previously on the remake of Shadow of the Colossus, and apparently had "had no heads-up" on the studio's closure, hearing about it when everyone else did.
This was in an interview with IGN about Ueda's next project, Gen Atlus. When asked how he felt about Bluepoint's closure, he said it was "very sad" to hear since he was hoping to once again work with the studio on another project.
