A reliable Star Wars insider has claimed that Star Wars Outlaws was supposed to get six expansions instead of just two, as Ubisoft thought it would be "WAY more successful than it ended up being".
There's no game in recent memory that's been quite as unfairly received as Star Wars Outlaws. The first-ever open-world Star Wars game had its issues at launch, sure, but a combination of being at the centre of a culture war and a general open-world and Star Wars fatigue meant that it never got the attention (or sales) that it really deserved.
Over time, Outlaws has started to be looked back on more fondly as gamers got around to giving it a chance, but it's never going to be enough to make up for the damage.
