The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered Is Launching On Nintendo Switch 2 This August, And It's Not A Game Key Card

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is finally coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this year. Announced at the start of February with a not-so-great looking trailer, it's now been confirmed that Oblivion Remastered will officially launch on August 11, and that a physical edition will be released at the same time as the digital release.

Now, physical releases have been a hot button issue recently, spurred on by Grand Theft Auto 6's decision to ship a code in a box. Rockstar wasn't the first to do it though, as Bethesda released codes in boxes for the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of Skyrim and Fallout 4's Anniversary Editions. With that in mind, you'd assume that The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered would be the same.

Thankfully, I'm pleased to report that this doesn't appear to be the case. After the announcement, it was confirmed by both independent retailer VGP and on Bethesda's own website that the physical version of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered will include the whole base game on the physical cartridge. It's kind of wild that this clarification needs to be made, but that's the world we live in nowadays.
