In the wake of Epic Games Store and Fortnite's launch on mobile, the company's CEO Tim Sweeney has revealed the cost of their legal struggle against Apple and Google.
In a recent interview with Game File, Sweeney said that Epic Games has probably lost over a billion dollars of revenue since 2020, which marks the beginning of the tech giant's battle against two titans.
Alongside missing out on revenue, Epic Games has also spent hundreds of millions on legal fees. More than three years after the battle, Epic Games Store and, of course, Fortnite, is now available on iOS and Android with some caveats.
Both the store and the tech giant's colossal titles are available on iOS devices within the European Union. This means that iOS users who want to play Fortnite or use the storefront in the US and UK will have to wait a bit longer. However, Epic Games and its colossal titles are available worldwide for Android users.
Sweeney says that seeing Fortnite, Rocket League Sideswipe, and Fall Guys' new mobile version on iOS devices in Europe is a great milestone. Though he believes that the fight is still far from over.
