7 / 10.0 - F1 2016
Aug 18, 2016

F1 2016 nails the content and visuals, but fails to ease the player into most of its complicated mechanisms. To a Formula 1 fan, it's a masterpiece, but to anyone else, it's a bit overwhelming and doesn't stand out among other racing games.

Gal*Gun Double Peace is a bishōjo game that taps into this niche to make a surprisingly entertaining game but the limited control, skips in frame rate and interminable loading times make way for a slightly above average experience.

8 / 10.0 - I Am Setsuna
Jul 20, 2016

Like an experienced chef with a garden of spices, I Am Setsuna borrows from classic RPGs in many areas without feeling like a fan game or a ripoff. While minor flaws detract from the experience, the brilliant presentation and nostalgic gameplay are enough to make Setsuna worthy of standing with its ancestors.

This is the best Lego game since Lego Marvel Super Heroes and whether you are a Lego fan or Star Wars fan, or both; there is a lot to like and have fun with in Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

I might not have been grunting a sub vocal "yeah" like the originals but this will likely be a "have time for a quick race/game" for years to come.

7.5 / 10.0 - Lost Sea
Jul 5, 2016

Lost Sea is a unique title that provides a new, casual experience that holds its own on consoles. Though it is not suitable for long play times, it's a great game to kick back and relax with. The colorful world and unique mechanics leave the player with a sense of satisfaction-- until they die and all of that slips away in an instant.

8.5 / 10.0 - Zero Time Dilemma
Jul 3, 2016

Although the ending might not be one that fans expected, Zero Time Dilemma is a great game, with a lot of shocking twists and turns within its story. And being able to even have a finale to the Zero Escape series proves that we’re all in the best possible timeline.

7.5 / 10.0 - Grand Kingdom
Jul 2, 2016

Grand Kingdom isnt my favorite tactics game as of late, but I certainly didn't dislike it. It was a welcome little serving in a buffet of tactical rpg's, and one I wouldn't recommend skipping over.

6 / 10.0 - The Technomancer
Jun 28, 2016

A true jack of all trades, The Tehnomancer's impressive visuals don't make up for its lack of engaging combat and inability to set itself apart from other games in the genre. It's a mashup of many other open-world RPGs that is produced by a smaller developer than any of them; it sets itself up for disappointment.

5 / 10.0 - Umbrella Corps

Umbrella Corps feels like a rushed, unfinished failed attempt at a third person multiplayer shooter. Don't waste your time.

7.2 / 10.0 - Mighty No. 9
Jun 20, 2016

There was a lot of hype for Mighty No 9. which ended up fading away over its rough development time. The ending product was not what we anticipated - but it's still a fairly good game for a decent price. It's fault comes from not knowing exactly what it wants to be. It's difficulty is so wild that it could turn off many players - casuals and Mega Man veterans alike. Overall, I recommend fans of the genre to give Mighty Number 9 a shot.

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter isn't necessarily a bad game. Each individual case is written rather well, voice acting is about as good as you can expect, and some of those puzzles along the way work well enough to keep the game challenging, but fun. It still looks good and offers that "Holmes" feel, but unfortunately no game is perfect. Bad puzzles and poor performance can easily kill the pace of the game, and with only four and a bit cases you'll find the content as a whole a bit lacking for $50.

Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book is a game that can be played and enjoyed by both fans of the series, newcomers, and even people who would otherwise not even consider it. By being willing to open my mind and expand my horizons, I was able to very much enjoy a game that I initially overlooked simply by its cover.

Leifthrasir is an improvement of the original Odin Sphere in every way imaginable. If you were a fan of the original game, love beat-em-ups, or just want a game with solid combat, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is a must-play.

It’s hard to recommend this title at all for the single player campaign alone. While the combat is fun in short bursts, it can easily get repetitive since most levels require the exact same strategy each time in order to win. However, Neptunia fans should like this, as well as Vita owners looking for an enjoyable online co-op experience.

4 / 10.0 - Shadwen
May 16, 2016

From a first glance, Shadwen should be pretty great. Everything seems to look good and gives the impression that this game is totally finished. Then you make it past the first area and you quickly realize that Frozenbyte hasn't learned anything from their Trine 3 experience. Shadwen could be a promising game. There's a lot of potential with time manipulation, and if they could fix the AI this might even be worth a playthrough. But as it presently stands, I can't recommend this game.

Valkyria Chronicles was a joy to play on the PlayStation 4. If you haven't played the game before, now would be the best time to pick it up. If you already have then I probably don't need to convince you anyways. Valkyria Chronicles is just one of those games - the "one in a million" that does something completely different and "sticks". It definitely stuck with me and I sincerely recommend it, especially if you're a fan of unique strategy games. There's a little bit here for everyone, especially those fond of Japanese productions. Now excuse me, I have a war to win!

9.5 / 10.0 - Severed
Apr 26, 2016

Out now for an ailing console, Severed will be remembered as one of those “console-defining” games. Actually, it’s more than just a game. It is a memorable experience unique to the PSVita that is to be savoured in its entirety.
