The Outerhaven Productions's Reviews

The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie is everything I wanted from the Trails series. We get a huge cast of playable characters, a ton of emotional beats and world building, and finally some great turn based gameplay. The three routes do tend to slow down the pace of the overall narrative but overall it is still extremely well written and executed.

AEW: Fight Forever brings me back to the "glory days" of wrestling video games with its easy-to-learn but hard-to-master controls, fun and entertaining graphics, and a KISS match selection that gives you just enough of a taste of what All Elite Wrestling is about. AEW: Fight Forever might not have the complex simulation look and feel that we've come to accept because of WWE video games over the last 20 years, but it's FUN, something that the WWE games tend to forget about.

Ghost Trick Phantom Detective is a worthy remaster of a DS game you might not have tried before. It won't be for everyone, but if you like a challenge, you might want to give this title a shot, especially if you enjoy a good mystery.

With a sickly world, interesting NPCs, and some truly gruesome humour, Sludge Life 2 succeeds at many of the things it tries. In my short time with the game, I was regularly grossed out and intrigued by everything in front of me. Though it will only take you a short time and not all of its risks pay off, it follows up the first game with a rewarding sequel – even if it starts to feel a bit shallow.

Charade Maniacs is a fun mystery visual novel but it isn't the best with its Otome elements. There is a big cast of characters that are all interesting in their own way, but not enough time with each one to feel fully invested in the relationship.

F1 23 is another step forward for this already incredible franchise with the return of Braking Point and the improved handling this replaces F1 22 as the best video game representation of the sport it is simulating. A must play for any F1 fans and players.

Overall, Septaroad Voyager has a very addicting gameplay loop for someone like me who adores the gambit system of Final Fantasy XII, and I see myself doing quests to add more SP to my characters and build them to be even more powerful. If you are someone who enjoys that system, I would recommend this game to you.

This is one of the most fleshed-out VR games I've played thus far, with little to no glitches. Overall, this game has become one of my favorites to play in my off time when I feel in the mood for VR, and it is one of the best Zombie games I have played to date.

Layers of Fear serves as a kind of director's cut for the horror series. With lavish visuals, new content, and a new framing device, it proves the definite way to experience the series. Those who've already played the games won't find much they haven't seen before, but The Final Note chapter adds a fun, spooky new layer.

Loop8: Summer of Gods has a very interesting premise with stunning visuals and amazing music. The creativity in the game can hold back other parts of the mechanics.

Street Fighter 6 is an easy day-one buy for the hardcore eSports player base, but casual players might want to wait for a year or more for a more complete game before buying.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is a near-perfect title with everything feeling fresh, fun, and new. Even the places you've been too before have been reborn in some ways. You'll spend dozens of hours in the game without breaking a sweat and love pretty much all of it.

Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord is a sequel game to the original Fairy Fencer F but with a totally new combat system. It is a competent strategy Role Playing Game and not overly difficult. The music mechanics make it stand out and a joy to listen to. The relationship between characters is not really explored as heavily as the first game.

Turns out not all games with rocky development cycles are disasters. Dead Island 2 by Dambusters Studio is a fantastic zombie slaying action game that simply avoids taking risks.

LEGO 2K Drive is a great racing game. The world that is built using a combination of LEGO bricks and real-world objects is stunning and looks like some kid or LEGO hobbyist, made this world in their own home. However, once the game tries to do something that is not racing using a racing control system, that's when the wheels fall off this particular LEGO racer.

The Last Case of Benedict Fox was clearly crafted with love as it nails what it is to be a fantastic Metroidvania, wrapping it up in a Lovecraftian murder mystery. Every part of this game feeds wonderfully into the others, creating a great experience that is only really let down by some mechanical inconsistencies.

Cassette Beasts is a fantastic monster collecting game, one that is clearly inspired by old-school Pokémon but betters it in every aspect. This is the game I wish Pokémon was; for me, it's the new master of the monster-collecting genre.
