The talented Japanese team has created its greatest work and, beyond what will be the reception of the general public, has given shape to a stylistic and gameplay masterpiece, capable of synthesizing the needs of players with almost opposite characteristics.

Not the best possible remake for a Mega Drive classic largely unknown to Western players. After the good rehearsals seen during the technical remake of The Dragon's Trap, Wonder Boy Asha in Monster World struggles to impress in the same way. A gameplay that does not have the courage to dare, a difficulty too calibrated downwards and an unpired 2.5D graphic look leave a certain bitter taste in the mouth once you reach the credits.

While not revolutionizing the experience of its predecessor, Subnautica: Below Zero enriches and expands unknown worlds' excellent playful insights, packing a stimulating and inspired narrative survival. If you are looking for an experience focused on simulated survival, but at the same time prefer to let yourself be taken by the hand by a guided but intelligent advancement, then all you have to do is sink into the depths of 4546B.

A lazy and biting remastered, designed for online but with a netcode absolutely not up to scratch. A carefully created online component would surely have made a combat system shine that remains solid and fun decades later, finally bringing the saga back to the giants of beat 'em up. Let's hope Sega has learned his lesson and wants to "get serious" next time.

Necromunda Hired Gun rests its foot on the accelerator of dynamism and violence, however it has an inaccurate aim. Many of its problems stem from strictly technical stumbles, some of which can be filed with special updates (such as bugs or application crashes), while others are inherent in its playful DNA, and have to do with almost completely absent feedback from shots, with a coarse artificial intelligence to the far-fetched, and with a general flatness of shootings.

By recovering and expanding stasis's game formula, Beautiful Desolation confirms The Brotherhood's talent for making point-and-click adventures that are appealing both narratively and aesthetically.

7.5 / 10.0 - World's End Club
May 27, 2021

World's End Club is the carefree in the midst of disaster, the light at the end of the tunnel, a journey in the company of friends to whom it is impossible not to get attached. An intriguing visual novel that plays with parallel dimensions, leading to more endings and curious "what if..." that will slowly reveal the mystery hidden under the skies of Japan.

7.2 / 10.0 - Operation: Tango
May 26, 2021

Operation: Tango is an exclusively cooperative adventure that perfectly follows the trail of productions such as We Were Here. The idea of impersonating a pair of spies is intriguing, but in fact those who operate in the field will have as much to do with terminals and computer systems as their fellow hacker. The result is a pleasant, but very narrow experience that wears out quickly, despite the exclusive sections dedicated to the two characters.

6.5 / 10.0 - BIOMUTANT
May 24, 2021

Biomutant is a bizarre mixture of playful and narrative genres in which fantasy, post-apocalyptic, magic, advanced technology and not least anthropomorphic animals find space. If we add to these elements the many mechanics that the guys of Experiment 101 wanted to implement at all costs, such as the Aura, the total customization of the character or the incredible number of weapons that can be made through the crafting system, it is not at all surprising that the action RPG has not been able to manage too much meat on fire.

7 / 10.0 - King of Seas
May 24, 2021

It has its limits, it does not have huge ambitions, and here and there it brings out ideas that are not bad, especially in combat. And, for the body of a thousand whales, it works. It's very repetitive, but it works. It doesn't extol, but it works.

7 / 10.0 - Knockout City
May 21, 2021

It took only a few hours spent in the company of Knockout City to understand how it is a title with great potential and concept able to capture the attention of users belonging to all age groups due to immediate and fun gameplay. It remains to be understood how much and how it will be supported by the developers, but the premises leave us optimistic about the future of the game, especially since it seems that the disastrous launch of Rocket Arena has taught EA a lot.

Net of some technical roughness, especially visible on old gen, and of the indisputable limitations of the engine used, which are also reflected in the actual extent of the interventions made on Mass Effect 2 and 3, the Legendary Edition represents an excellent opportunity to visit once again the wonderful universe modeled by the Edmonton team.

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster is a good restoration work, which is made stronger by its most solid premise: the starting game, the original Nocturne of 2004, was and remains a masterpiece in the J-RPG group to which many modern works are still inspired today.

The guys at Sumo Digital Newcastle try to offer a playful experience that is different from the usual and undoubtedly intriguing, at least on paper. Hood: Outlaws & Legends, in fact, is an atypical, brave product in many ways, that doesn't hide behind easy solutions.

Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind are two visual novels to live on your own skin, whether you're passionate about the genre or just looking for two great thrillers. And while it is true that the basically vintage structure could create rhythm problems, the quality of the writing, the very important soundtrack and the fabulous aesthetic restyling will make certain design artifices typical of the text adventures of the late 80s forget, leaving room only for the suspence, mystery and beauty of a gameplay that puts communication between characters first.

Druids' wrath is ultimately good additional content for assassin's creed valhalla season pass. The Irish expansion provides a challenging and stimulating experience, and in terms of quantity the content proposed in the DLC has been more than satisfactory. It is in essence, however, that Eivor's new adventure would have needed a greater refine: the narrative component, more linear and less disorganic than the English countryside, lends itself to several drops in rhythm while proposing some interesting characters.

There is No Game: Wrong Dimension is a particular adventure, of those that so effectively break the fourth wall to compose a unique mood of its kind. If you loved The Stanley Parable, or if you're looking for fiercely niche experiences, Draw Me's work at Pixel is the one for you.

8 / 10.0 - R-Type Final 2
May 5, 2021

It's hard to think of a product that's better suited to R-Type Final 2 r-typers. In a pedisse retrace the trail left by the famous arcade shooter of the eighties, the revival operation by Granzella Inc. modernize here and there the playful recipe of departure, finally returning an experience with a high nostalgic rate, with much above-average difficulties, just like in the old days. Whether this is the real ending of the series or not, try not to miss the exciting opportunity to take flight among the stars again.

8.7 / 10.0 - Returnal
Apr 29, 2021

It is a powerful act of courage, a "leap into the void" that could usher in a bright future for Housemarque or put his work at risk. Recklessness and ambition are not enough to break through, but in this case they are accompanied by a grandiose creative vision, solid production values and meticulous and calculated design. Returnal does not achieve Hades' perfection, but is destined to make his mark in the Roguelike landscape.
