It is true that there are works capable of going far beyond what the Silver Case and The 25th Ward did, but it is also true that it is extremely difficult to find two works held together by such a valid internal coherence and, above all, such a high level of character writing.

Greedfall's next-gen update undoubtedly makes it more beautiful to see, and in some ways also to play, but it does not change the imperfect DNA that did not allow it to shine at launch, and that continues to clip its wings even now, two years later.

The Nintendo Switch version of Sky Children of the Light manages to convincingly replicate what has been seen in the last two years on iOS and Android systems. Thatgamecompany's work keeps intact the social components behind the adventure and the incredible artistic direction of the brilliant team led by Jenova Chen.

Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is confirmed as a solid and enjoyable JRPG, as well as a respectful spin-off to the main series from which it is drawn. The product boasts an incredible variety of arrows (both in terms of monsters and equipment), a more engaging story than the original and above all an attractive and less childish visual rendering.

ENDER LILIES: Quietus of the Knights has a structure that is certainly classic and recognizable for fans of the metroidvania genre, but at the same time manages to amaze thanks to an impeccable execution and a storyline that blooms hand and hand that continues in the adventure.

Chivalry 2 represents the natural continuation of a creative journey that opened more than a decade ago, when the Torn Banner Studios saga was nothing more than a sensational mod for Half-Life 2.

Still mindful of the surprising narrative, playful and artistic qualities of Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance, which in 2015 managed to win a place of honor among the best strategic role-playing games of the past generation, we had high hopes for the new episode. Not only did Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny not prove to be as explosive, but the product seemed to us to be a listless more than the same, moreover suffering from technical deficiencies that were nothing short of unjustifiable.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 finally arrives on Nintendo Switch and, as is traditional when it comes to cross-platform titles, there are many pros and cons to consider before proceeding to purchase. Let us start by saying that, although it is a content version identical to the others, between not exactly ideal controls and obvious graphic filings, the porting process has required some important compromise.

Legend of Mana's Remastered is a golden opportunity to rediscover one of the lesser-known episodes of the historic Square-Enix series. Although certain playful and narrative elements show the signs of the time, there is no denying some intriguing ideas that have made it live up to the name it bears: the possibility of shaping the game map at will through the Artifacts and a far from linear adventure process leave the player the freedom to approach the game as he sees fit , discovering little by little the many stories, secrets and great battles that this fantastic world has to offer.

Mario Golf: Super Rush brings a decidedly pleasant Adventure mode to the green, able to intelligently integrate into the overall offer of the title and entertain for a wide number of hours. The latter is joined by the innovative Speed Golf, new entry for the saga, and the even more exuberant Battaglia Golf. Fun and layered gameplay is set by Camelot in a highly customizable setting, which aims to offer the best of itself in the company of friends and family.

Scarlet Nexus is a complex creature, the mirror reflection of a layered and mysterious imagery that hides a small rough diamond under a blanket of arcane.

We loved SEGA's Olympic proposal: Tokyo 2020 Olympics - The official video game is fun and enjoyable to play. We would have liked some more discipline and above all some whole new game modes (maybe a "historical" to relive some legendary records). Overall, SEGA's multi-event title works and will give decidedly pleasant afternoons and evenings to live in the family in pursuit of the Olympic dream. See you in Paris 2024!

Dark Alliance returns after about sixteen years of oblivion. Tuque's work, which became an in-house development studio at Wizards of the Coast, despite having a rather grandiose name and glorious past, starts from scratch adopting some rather drastic (and not always winning) solutions, for the canons of the hack 'n' slash genre.

It only takes just over four hours to fall in love with Minute of Islands, an indie adventure that plays with the user's expectations, attracting him with his boyish graphic manhood in a corrupt, exhausting island world, with an uncertain history, as on the other hand, the nature of the characters acting within it is uncertain.

There are several reasons that lead us to consider Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade the definitive role of the already superlative action RPG that last year saw the reborn capital of Mako Energy. If the new lighting system devised by Square Enix and the properly redesigned textures have solved the vast majority of the problems that plagued the solid PS4 version, the almost zero loading times and the 60 fps guaranteed by performance mode represent a valid incentive to return once again to the streets of Midgar and be bewitched by its beauty. As for episode intermission, the DLC has effectively reintroduced the adorable Yuffie, cementing its role within the seventh final fantasy, but in our opinion the paid content presents a rather exosive entrance ticket and far from proportionate to the low longevity.

Even 15 years after the release of the first Ninja Gaiden it is easy to appreciate its majesty and all the nuances of the combat system proposed by Itagaki: it takes a few minutes to "regroup" again how to parry a shot, activate a devastating combo or decapitate an enemy and be conquered by the tight pace of play. It takes very little for a newb to appreciate the superb qualities of a combat system and gameplay that still manage to keep up with the best exponents of the action category. Because Ninja Gaiden also means secrets, areas to explore and puzzles to solve. Overall, the gameplay and level design of the two Sigmas also make a sniff in 2021, while the weaker of the three is confirmed to be the usual Razor's Edge.

Game Builder Garage is a courageous experiment that deserves the attention of those who are not content to stay on the surface of the video game medium. The experience is presented on the first as less captivating than titles such as Super Mario Maker, but the satisfaction that is obtained by entering the Bianconiglio lair and discovering the secrets of programming is priceless. We're curious to find out how the Game Builder Garage community will evolve, and we'll be interested in trying out the creations of grass developers from all over the world.

FunLabs' new title is especially striking for its ambition. The development studio, in fact, for the first time dares to get out of the comfort zone that has characterized hunting games for years and offers the public a curious mixture between open world, dynamics extrapolated from the survivals and mechanics typical of any hunting game. The big problem with this clearly tight budget is that the mixture of genres is grouped into an unconsused and, above all, unbalanced mix.

The core of the experience remains pleasant and fun, provided, however, that it is taken more like a more of the same, if not almost an expansion of the first Contracts, and to accept its obvious limits and problems.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is an experience that pleases, entertains and excites, but also flows guided and within limited tracks (and I'm not necessarily referring to the rails to grind in passages from the interaction inversely proportional to the majesty of the show), without perhaps ever upsetting beyond the disturbing technical aspect.
