IGN Italy's Reviews

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD is a good re-release of a game that renews, evolves or even upsets many of the distinctive elements of the series, but suffering from substantial rhythm problems in its second half.

9.2 / 10.0 - F1 2021
Jul 12, 2021

F1 2021 is the apex point of these last three editions. The simcade gameplay is refined at its best and the new game modes are solid, impressive and fun. In the best F1 year to date since long time, we have the best F1 game ever.

All in all Armature Studio has done a good job with Where the Heart Leads, offering a story-driven adventure based on choices that influence the story of the protagonist, but not very satisfying in terms of gameplay.

The Silver Case 2425 is a tribute to Suda51 and his style. If you love the famous author, we are in front of a unique game. If not, it is difficult to recommend it lightly.

7 / 10.0 - Blair Witch
Jul 11, 2021

Blair Witch VR Edition is an effective transposition into virtual reality of an horror game that is certainly not essential but has a nice dark and evil atmosphere.

This sequel is very similar to the first chapter in terms of feel and structure, but that does not mean that it is not a valid and better game: those who have enjoyed the first will surely love Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.

Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! compared to the free experience on PC, adds either a lot or nothing, depending on your point of view. Pragmatically one could argue the futility of the expense in the face of mostly identical content available for free. However, the point is not this: whether you want to reward the developers after the experience with the free edition, or in case you want to approach the game using its "improved" version (despite some limitations), Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! remains a work of extraordinary emotional impact.

Chicory teach everyone else how to tackle some real issues about our society and, ultimately, our life. But its gameplay lacks that spark that made Wandersong great.

SEGA tried to give a fresh spin to the classic multievent Olympics game and mostly did. The mix of arcade vibes and quite unusual choices in terms of disciplines works well and the game is fun, but its structure is pretty lacklustre and multiplayer is too much limited to shine properly.

A classic new metroidvania inspired by Hollow Knight. It brings nothing new in the genre, but it makes no errors resulting in a very solid game with well crafted and various mechanics. It will lead you for more than 25 hours through an interesting realm hiding a fine story in it. A gem that simply deserves a place in the Olympus of metroidvanias.

Once again Pro Cycling Manager struggles to make any real improvements. Despite a relatively solid release, the old bugs remain and the new improvements only justify the purchase for those who have been missing the game for a few years or have never played. Too bad, because the good simulation depth would have deserved more love!

7 / 10.0 - Legend of Mana
Jun 22, 2021

The remastering process didn't address the shortcomings of the gameplay of Legend of Mana. Yet, its vibrant world, full of memorable characters drawn to life by astonishing visuals and new orchestral scores, is as good as ever.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX still remains a difficult platformer, but also an extremely varied and modernized one, with grace and competence in terms of graphics and sound.

8 / 10.0 - Chivalry 2
Jun 21, 2021

Chivalry 2 has achieved its goal: while not perfect, it offers a great combat system that it's easy to learn but difficult to master. The game never takes itself too seriously and really shines using its best weapons.

Dark Alliance is an action game with a fiery soul and brave ambitions, whose gameplay is a little bit undermined by some naive choices and a lackluster balance. It's fun in co-op and depicts with joy the D&D universe, but at day one it's still too unpolished to achieve the glory of the top action RPGs.
