7.5 / 10.0 - Moero Crystal H
Sep 23, 2020

Because it contains visual appeal and highly suggestive content, Moero Crystal H is a title that sells itself through the fanservice and lives up to that, especially in mini-games, but does not give up the RPG genre to prioritize the notorious trope tits and butt (and, of course, underwear). Even though it is colorful and captivating, it is still a niche game, due to the subgenre dungeon crawler that may not please everyone, and aimed at a male target audience. Thus, I am proof that, if well designed and built, the fanservice can both amuse and attract women.

8.5 / 10.0 - Nexomon: Extinction
Sep 18, 2020

Nexomon: Extinction is, without a doubt, a mandatory monster-capturing game that does not deny its origins. You will find a game with elaborated plot and audiovisual content, and you will be presented with long hours of playing what could be the ninth generation of pocket monsters. Even with many innovations, some features that are considered mandatory are missing, such as online multiplayer and local trades. In search of an alternative among those so scarce in the genre, you will find in this game an intense and fun adventure that is worthwhile.

5 / 10.0 - Bounty Battle
Sep 17, 2020

The proposal to join characters from other indie titles is noble, but its execution is terrible. With poor gameplay and performance issues, Bounty Battle is far from living up to its potential. Unfortunately, it was not this time that we saw the main heroes of the independent developer scene shining together in a fighting game.

8.5 / 10.0 - Avicii Invector
Sep 16, 2020

AVICII Invector Encore Edition presents a great combination of music and visuals. Controlling a ship to the rhythm of the sound is very engaging and fun because of the presence of good mechanics, interesting sequences of notes and intense challenge. The title revisits the work of AVICII by bringing its great hits and some lesser-known tracks in a great selection of pop-electronic music. Even those who are not a fan of the genre can enjoy the game because of the exciting atmosphere and gameplay. There is solidity in its concept and system, but the absence of extras and options is a letdown. In the end, AVICII Invector Encore Edition celebrates the musician's legacy in a remarkable rhythm game.

5 / 10.0 - Bake 'n Switch
Sep 16, 2020

Bake ‘n Switch has charisma and a fun proposal. The competitive mode delivers a consistent experience, but the main focus, which is the campaign, falls short. The game suffers from imbalance, especially for two players, making the game tiring and frustrating. In addition, a simple method of connecting to other users in online matches is lacking. It is, without a doubt, a title made with care and attention to aesthetic details. But when it comes to gameplay, it needed to bake a little longer.

6 / 10.0 - Roommates
Sep 15, 2020

In general, it is difficult to recommend Roommates. On the one hand, the work is quite engaging as a slice of life filled with humor. On the other hand, the gameplay choices and the use of stereotypes and prejudices can be quite unpleasant. Even though I had a lot of fun with the game and found it a reasonable example of the genre, there are better examples of visual novels and simulators on the Switch.

8 / 10.0 - Minoria
Sep 15, 2020

Minoria proves itself as an excellent indie Metroidvania to spend time on Switch. The tragic adventure does not bring new ideas to the genre, but it offers a agile experience that fulfills the basics in a very competent way. Featuring an interesting history and a charming art style, you can see that this Brazilian title was made with great care.

For lovers of the anime, Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is a dream come true, despite the technical problems it has. However, it can cause frustration in anyone looking for a more traditional soccer experience. If you see the gameplay present in this title as a choice, it is certainly a game that will be worthwhile.

8 / 10.0 - Spinch
Sep 14, 2020

Thanks to precise gameplay and fantastic visual and sound presentation, Spinch projects itself as one of the most interesting independent games launched recently. Its natural difficulty and inconstant checkpoints can keep out more casual or impatient players, but fans of the genre and lovers of a good challenge should at least check out this adventure.

Ary and the Secret of Seasons needed to stay in development for a few more seasons, receiving the polish it needed to become memorable. There are really good ideas in the game, with emphasis on the main mechanics of the stations. There are few titles that explore a certain aspect so well without making it dull or repetitive. However, without a doubt, the biggest negative point is the huge gallery of technical problems. Constant and time consuming load screens, objects being rendered a few meters away, areas with fog, very unstable fps rate, many bugs and crashes that close the game are just a few in this list.

8 / 10.0 - Turmoil
Sep 13, 2020

Turmoil is very agile and fun, with mechanics that are simple and challenging at the same time. Contrasting steps that combine long-term planning and quick decision making, the title is recommended for players who prefer that dose of action during the strategy.

8 / 10.0 - Here Be Dragons
Sep 12, 2020

Here Be Dragons delivers a differentiated strategy title in the realm of aesthetics and gameplay, with a system that closely resembles what could be seen in a board game. Perhaps its significant support in the dice and chance drives away players who like to have control over what will happen, but it is impossible to deny that this proposal is part of the charm of the game and generates good times. If you are a fan of the genre and theme, and are looking to try something new, here is a highly recommended title.

6 / 10.0 - West of Dead
Sep 10, 2020

West of Dead has a great premise and manages to deliver a fun combat that certainly has its layers. As any good roguelike, you must master the mechanics of the game and go through a good number of runs before you can expect any success. However, there is a feeling of lack of polish thanks to some poor game design choices that prevents the experience from being truly memorable.

7 / 10.0 - Inertial Drift
Sep 8, 2020

Inertial Drift can provide a fun experience for the player, but it takes a little effort to understand the gameplay and the drift mechanics present in the game. The vaporwave aesthetics can captivate the interest of the players, but the various technical flaws cancel out the charm that the title has, making it interesting for few players or, perhaps, for the most enthusiastic about experimental games.

Peaky Blinders: Mastermind is an interesting puzzle game, whose well-matched mechanics offer a very welcome experience to the genre. Even for those who don't know the series, it's a title worth checking out.

9 / 10.0 - A Short Hike
Sep 3, 2020

A Short Hike is short and sweet, just like a tiny chocolate bar. You know that each bite will be worth it, but the experience definitely lasts for a short time. Going beyond a "mere" video game, A Short Hike resembles a poem or an interactive work of art at different times, while still managing to be a legitimately fun game in the process.

8.5 / 10.0 - Inmost
Sep 2, 2020

For those who like a cinematic adventure - even if in pixel art - full of meanings and worthy of a night of reflection, INMOST is the right choice. Whether in its three different protagonists who have a lot in common, or in the refined audiovisual content, the message of the game will be delivered. It is a pity that, with so much mystery, it remains open to so many interpretations.

9 / 10.0 - Manifold Garden
Sep 1, 2020

Manifold Garden is an experience that mixes physics with puzzle solving. For anyone interested in the absurd ambience of Escher's illustrations or surrealist art, the game offers a sense of closeness. But this setting is sometimes confusing (on purpose) and can cause some discomfort. Considering that the developer’s intention is to make players feel lost and out of place, the game does its job well, forcing us to relearn how to look at the world around us.

My curiosity about Indian culture was rewarded by a fun title that mixes platform and hack and slash. There are several praises that the game deserves, such as simple controls, challenging combat filled with varied combos and an interesting plot. Even with technical problems and certain decisions that negatively interfere with gameplay, these flaws are not strong enough to overshadow the game's brilliance. Although short, Raji: An Ancient Epic manages to prove that Hindu mythology is a rich source of inspiration ready to be tapped by the gaming market.

8.5 / 10.0 - Banner of the Maid
Aug 31, 2020

Banner of the Maid deserves a recommendation as one of the best tactical RPGs and independent games on the Nintendo Switch. If you are a fan of SRPGs and are looking for a new experience that lives up to the influences of the genre, this is a title that deserves an opportunity. Here we hope for a sequel to expand and realize even more of the potential of the franchise
