7 / 10.0 - Swimsanity!
Aug 30, 2020

Swimsanity! has a great idea of movement, which fits very well in an underwater themed twin stick shooter. However, not making Adventure Mode more accessible to a single player is something I missed. Playing Swimsanity! alone - besides being extremely difficult and frustrating - it is not as fun as with friends. Its graphics and soundtrack are pleasant, with underwater effects that are suitable for a game of the genre. Although it is a somewhat simple experience, there is enough content to not be characterized as a castaway.

Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? Infinite Combate had the potential to be better, especially if it was released a few years ago for Nintendo 3DS. It is a title that insults dungeon crawlers and RPGs in general, although it has some good points and is noob friendly. In addition, instead of recommending it, I think it is more advantageous to watch the animation. Trying to find positive points to compesate it's problems disappointed me, just like the animation.

The greatest quality of this game is in its philosophy. Yono is a young elephant, with a lot to learn, a lot to live on. This is the impression that remains of this game. At the same time, the proposal seems a little unbalanced. The simplicity of aesthetics, combats and puzzles make it seem like a game aimed at children, but certainly the dialogues are closer to the universe of a university student than of a child. I would recommend this game for its mechanics and visuals, but much more for its narrative.

9 / 10.0 - Spiritfarer
Aug 29, 2020

Spiritfarer is a game about collecting a ton of resources at a frantic pace and exploring a vast map solving quests, but likewise it is also a beautiful bittersweet tale about life and death. The games explore themes like love, affection, goodbyes, pains, insecurities and new beginnings in a way that we don't see much in the world of video games. Best of all, this beautiful story takes place within a legitimately innovative, fun and well-made game. Do not waste time, Spiritfarer is one of the best games of the year for Switch.

Giraffe and Annika is a game with a lot of potential, but it oversimplifies some aspects and tries to compensate this by creating mechanisms to delay the player's progression. Despite the lack of depth, the adventure is still a considerable option if the objective is to relax and unwind, especially for those who love to be entertained with musical game dynamics.

Amid mistakes and successes, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is a solid adventure that manages to translate the essence of the animated series in a way never seen before in video games. The dated level design does not overshadow the great work done by Soleil together with Adult Swim. The diversified combat system and art elements make the title more than recommended for fans of the character and for those who enjoy action games.

With very charming and well-crafted sprites, SAMURAI SHODOWN! 2 leaves Neo Geo Pocket in the past and officially returns to the arena. But the lack of online resources and limitations in the game itself give little reason for anyone who is not an enthusiast to acquire the relaunch. If you are curious about old video games or a fan of the franchise, the title may be interestin. But if not, it may be a game of little benefit.

Linn: Path of Orchards has many merits and presents a proposal consistent with its original destination: the mobile environment. On the Switch the title works very well, but it is a short experience. The number of chapters and stages is very small, and the level of difficulty is very high in some of them. Therefore, it is necessary to have an open mind to deal with the error, and to know how to enjoy the path without so much stress - or desire to collect all the objectives. In the end, the awakening of sensitivity is what matters, not just the completion of the journey.

With impeccable gameplay, 23 characters, various game modes, great local multiplayer, several improvements over the original console and a virtually infinite replayability factor, King of Fighters R-2 is highly recommended for fighting fans and a must-have game for enthusiasts of The King of Fighters franchise, not only for its historical value, but for the hours and hours of fun that the port provides.

6 / 10.0 - Skully
Aug 17, 2020

Skully would be a good recommendation, but the port has some technical problems in the graphics and the controls. It is a title that, with its challenging stages and simple storyline, reminds platformers of past generations. That so, the port that should have been released with more care, it is up to us to wait for a patch with corrections.

8 / 10.0 - FAIRY TAIL
Aug 14, 2020

The experience of playing Fairy Tail is very good if you know the original work. The game captures the essence of anime very well and makes you feel that universe with the presence of voices, music, artistic style and writing make the source material shine in this new media.

The Ambassador: Fractured Timelines tries to be a different game with creative mechanics and well-crafted visuals, but the lack of variety in gameplay and level design problems make it mediocre. Perhaps if tinyDino Games had dedicated a little more time to devise different battle mechanics, the title would deserve a stronger recommendation.

7.5 / 10.0 - Nowhere Prophet
Aug 12, 2020

Nowhere Prophet is a large project by a small team that resulted in a different, innovative, intriguing and well-done job. There is no glaring flaw in what the game proposes, but there are undoubtedly points that could be better polished. Additionally, the genre itself, the large amount of text to read and rules to learn, the severe difficulty and the high learning curve make the game a niche game that will go unnoticed by many people. Fans of different card games and / or roguelikes, however, may like it a lot.

Megadimension Neptunia VII knows its own audience and wants to please it. It is a pity, therefore, that in the course of this process experience in general is impaired. Disregarding the technical problems of porting it to Switch and the sometimes unnecessary layers of fan service, there is a fun JRPG with a lot of content which, although not belonging to the big echelon of the genre, can surprise enthusiasts.

2 / 10.0 - Tiny Racer
Aug 6, 2020

Amid so much lack of whimsy and technical problems that hinder the functionality of this title, what frustrates most about Tiny Racer is not what it has become, but what it has ceased to become. Although simple, the visual style seemed charismatic enough to bring a fun racing game to life, but unfortunately it was not enough to overcome the many flaws that this title has.

7.5 / 10.0 - Ageless
Aug 6, 2020

Ageless is a beautiful tale about empathy and purpose, with an ambience as simple as its message and full of puzzles that can be quite complicated. The game has several positive aspects, and it manages to develop its own identity to create an experience that deserves to be explored. However, there are also several stones in the way: gameplay can be repetitive, tiring and simply flawed and frustrating.

8.5 / 10.0 - CARRION
Aug 3, 2020

Taking control of a dark tentacled monster and terrorizing everything that exists is much more fun than it looks. The experience of playing Carrion is short lived, but carries a good potential to generate indescribable sensations in the player's skin.

6 / 10.0 - Creepy Tale
Aug 3, 2020

Although Creepy Tale reasonably represents the genre and is not a bad game, it also has nothing special. Its puzzles are too simple and its gloomy atmosphere is not enough to make the game minimally memorable.

In short, Pokémon Café Mix is not bad; on the contrary, it is fun, colorful and with a good presentation. However, it is just a simple aperitif, which can become nauseating if served continuously.
