Retro Revengers is one of those titles that promises little but accomplishes its mission very well. It's a shame it doesn't have more stages and is too short, as this atypical group of friends could definitely have some great adventures.

SteamWorld Heist II stands out for expanding on the concepts of its predecessor with new mechanics and an engaging campaign. The gameplay, which combines manual aiming precision with the need for elaborate tactics, provides a challenging and rewarding experience, especially in the various missions that test our ability to adapt and plan. Despite some limitations, such as the lack of clear information about enemies and the sometimes bureaucratic naval exploration, SteamWorld Heist II offers a journey rich in detail and content. Although it does not revolutionize its formula, it is a solid sequel that maintains the charm and quality of the series, being an excellent choice for fans of tactics and strategic adventures.

Vampire Therapist is very well-intentioned and the writing is engaging. You can see that the solo developer who makes up Little Bat Games had his idea (which works very well, it should be noted) and invested in it with care. This is quite evident in the positive finish of the character art, in the protagonist's diary, in the theoretical background presented by the story and even in the voice acting of the characters. Unfortunately, this is a product that fails to deliver solid performance, which was hampered by a bad business decision — not opting for early access. Still, it's worth keeping an eye on the progress of the updates until the visual novel reaches its maturity.

More than a simple clone, Kitsune Tails manages to bring good ideas to the traditional platformer genre. The easily recognizable gameplay is used to offer a good dose of variety and challenge, including creative bosses, very beautiful areas and an interesting story. Though it may have missed on more impactful qualities, it's a gun game for your library and a must for fans of classic 2D games.

Star Wars: Bounty Hunter returns as an interesting nostalgic journey for fans of the Star Wars saga, offering an expansion of the narrative of the universe created by George Lucas. The remaster brings graphical improvements and adjustments to controls that live up to modern standards, providing a more fluid and visually attractive experience. However, the design and repetition issues that were criticized upon its original release remain. In the end, an experience that shines more for its nostalgic value and the expansion of the saga's narrative than for the quality of the game itself.

In addition to being an excellent and immersive narrative adventure, Minds Beneath Us is a title that makes us think and challenges our own concepts of morality with every choice we make. Its concept of a dystopian future controlled by machines and artificial intelligence doesn't seem so far from our reality — could it be that, in a few decades, the world will be like the fictional Wanpei depicted in the game? But, more than presenting a hypothetical scenario about the future of humanity, the plot brings us very current and pertinent questions and thoughts. Honestly speaking, it's hard to put into words the emotional weight I felt while playing this title; perhaps this isn't the conclusion you expected for a review, but Minds Beneath Us is the famous “seeing is believing”.

Meifumado has some glimpses of what was perhaps initially envisioned for it, such as its boss fights that are very reminiscent of Sekiro battles, rather than its 2D contemporaries, and its graphics that are very reminiscent of those titles from the heyday of the Super Nintendo and also the Neo Geo. But that's all the game has in terms of qualities at this point, falling far short of other games of the genre, not only current ones, but also classics from previous generations.

Over Horizon X Steel Empire is an interesting mix even if for a specific player niche.

Having a crossover like SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos returning is something that is always worth highlighting, as it was a landmark title upon its initial release and is an essential title for anyone who enjoys a good fighting game. Unfortunately, the attachment to the arcade version of the game took away some of the shine that this port could have had by bringing everything that was best about it.

Frontier Hunter: Erza’s Wheel of Fortune offers solid action with RPG elements in a beautiful and captivating metroidvania with a narrative that is expanded as we progress through the campaign. Although the game’s humor is a bit offensive at times, especially for female audiences, the plot is intriguing enough to keep us going until the end. Unfortunately, although the combat is the highlight of this adventure, the characters’ combos are difficult to execute, and the boss battles are drawn out enough to come close to boring. Beyond this, we have a basically linear exploration, which, more than anything, makes backtracking difficult with the few save and teleport points. On the other hand, the lack of boldness as a metroidvania makes Frontier Hunter a good choice for people who are not very experienced with the genre, offering plenty of content to keep them entertained for hours.

If you strip Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus of all its oriental makeup, what you're left with is a metroidvania on the edge of competence. It's a product that came to market with quite obvious flaws in its main mechanic (the pogo-jump) and in the design of the levels, which primarily depend on the full functioning of such a system. Of course, it's far from being truly bad, but it's a game that's a victim of its own pretensions, which makes the mistake of relying too much on its pretty shell to compensate for the lack of soul at its core.

With its ups and downs, Tales of Kenzera: ZAU manages to make the experience worthwhile and still stands out in some areas, especially in the deeply human narrative and the art of the scenarios. The simplicity of the campaign is a double-edged sword: it may please beginners, but it may not satisfy those who want a deeper challenge and exploration.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess stands out for its unique combination of tower defense and action elements. The rich setting, inspired by Japanese mythology, and the agile pace of the gameplay are highlights that keep the experience engaging. However, the game fails to fully exploit its potential: the low difficulty and repetitiveness of some tasks end up compromising the depth of the journey. In the end, Kunitsu-Gami and its mix of styles is a unique and creative experience.

At first listen, Disaster Band seems like a great rhythm game. With a funny and original idea, the first few games are fun enough. The problem is that this irreverence can get a little annoying over time. The dependence on online modes to enhance the gameplay – to find players and new songs – is, to say the least, a risky bet. This is a suggestion for fans of the musical genre who are willing to face all these difficulties.

Gestalt: Steam & Cinder features a captivating steampunk setting with visuals inspired by the 32-bit era, but fails to deliver a memorable metroidvania experience. Despite its competent agile action and precise controls, the linear progression and lack of creativity in the maps compromise exploration. Combat, although varied in theory, becomes repetitive and boring due to limitations in mechanics and enemies; Furthermore, the story, despite being elaborate, is hampered by unnecessarily long dialogues and stereotypical characters. In the end, the result is an adventure that soon falls into oblivion.

Stray Gods: Orpheus is an interesting way to revisit the Icons universe for people who fell in love with the base game. However, the additional content is unfortunately content to be a small and insignificant addition to the experience as a whole.

Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure stands out for its originality and charm, offering a magical and compelling experience. The soundtrack, charming art direction and plot help create an immersive, captivating atmosphere. However, the gameplay, while innovative, presents challenges that may hinder the player experience due to execution issues and the lack of adequate support during critical moments. Jemma's journey is full of lessons about friendship, trust and courage, making it a pleasant adventure to play through despite the obstacles that demand constant attention to this world's logic.

Dungeons of Hinterberg combines elements of action, RPG, puzzles and social interactions in an immersive magical realism setting. The high points are the varied dungeons and good diversity of activities, but some of the systems are underdeveloped. In the end, the game stands out with its unique setting, providing an enchanting virtual escape for those who want to explore a magical and vibrant village.

Just like its predecessors, Cyber Citizen Shockman Zero is a cool game to get to know, but it hardly lasts and ends up fighting for the spotlight with modern games with the same concept.
