[...]Marona's, Ash's and Apricot's adventure is yet another worthy entry in Nippon Ichi Software's catalogue and a memorable experience for fans of the company or those who like a borderline experimental touch to the tactical RPG genre.

8.5 / 10.0 - Mark of the Deep
Jan 24, 2025

Mark of the Deep is a title that knows how to take advantage of the best of the metroidvania and soulslike genres to create an engaging and challenging adventure. With accessible mechanics and a friendly learning curve, the game manages to balance exploration, intense combat and captivating narrative, resulting in a memorable experience. The mysterious setting, combined with the well-developed mythology, makes Rookie's journey immersive and rewarding. Despite some inconsistencies, especially in the dubbing, the game stands out as an excellent example of the potential of the Brazilian industry and can already be considered one of the best games ever developed in Brazil.

Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is an unpretentious fable about the practical and emotional value of work done for the good of a community. The message is distilled into a simple but effective form, scattered throughout every corner of the fetch quests and dialogues that form the essence of the game. There is no significant challenge, but those who want a lovely broomstick ride while exploring the small and pleasant open world of the Windy Island will have a few hours to relax and find the purpose of the little delivery witch.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth stands out as a significant reinvention of a classic, ambitiously expanding and reimagining its narrative, characters, and setting. The PC port elevates the experience with technical improvements and tweakable options, though there are still minor issues, such as a lack of support for certain technologies. Still, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a remarkable title that celebrates the legacy of the original while charting new paths. It’s an imperfect journey, but one filled with memorable moments that reaffirm the impact and relevance of this universe for fans new and old.

It's a shame that Boti: Byteland Overclocked's problems compromise the player's enjoyment. It has a great idea and a very well-crafted environment for the theme it proposes. However, it is more than necessary that corrections be made so that the little messenger robot gains the prominence it deserves.

Diesel Legacy: The Brazen Age lived up to its promises, leaving nothing to be desired compared to the big names in the genre. If you like fighting games and want to try something a little more varied, it's worth giving it a chance, especially the double battles.

Tales of Graces f Remastered is a new opportunity for a great game in the franchise to reach a new audience and allows old fans to relive this jewel on current systems. Though it doesn't stand out as a remaster, with many other projects that are more competent in the market, this compete pack of the action RPG is an easy recommendation for fans of the genre.

6 / 10.0 - Blade Chimera
Jan 15, 2025

Despite its intriguing setting and some promising ideas, Blade Chimera fails to stand out as a memorable experience. The fusion of cyberpunk and Japanese mythology creates a visually rich universe, but the repetitive combat, uninspired level design, and linear progression limit the game's potential. With a short campaign and a limited interpretation of the metroidvania genre, Blade Chimera is a reasonable platformer, but far from achieving the brilliance needed to stand out among other games of the genre.

I believe Dynasty Warriors: Origins was designed to appeal to a wider audience for the musou genre, adding an extra layer of variety to the traditional formula. For my personal taste as a fan of this style of game, I was quite pleased. The combat has more depth, the narrative is more linear and the diverse structure gives this reboot a fresh feel, moving it away from feeling like just "more of the same".

Threefold Recital is an interesting narrative experience, featuring an engaging universe inspired by Chinese mythologies. Although the repetitiveness and lack of inspiration in the interactive sessions end up hurting the pace of the adventure, it is a game worth checking out for its story.

8 / 10.0 - Infinity Nikki
Jan 10, 2025

Despite issues with difficulty settings, Infinity Nikki proves to be a great and accessible option for those looking for a fair gacha and a good open world, while painting the outlines of a more intriguing narrative than it seems. Exploring every corner of a beautiful fantasy land has never been so stylish!

Freedom Wars REMASTERED is a good example of how a good game on a handheld 11 years ago was a technological marvel with addictive gameplay, but nowadays, with the few improvements it has received, it becomes something passable. The game itself is not bad, but in this niche of group arena battles against giant enemies that demand strategy and patience, there are other better examples everywhere. In the meantime, Freedom Wars remains as an option if you are really enthusiastic about the genre.

Despite its drawbacks, Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana manages to deliver a very fun and engaging adventure. Even with some issues arising from its age, such as slightly dated visuals and relatively simple gameplay, we have here a very enjoyable experience thanks to the fast combat and good level of challenge. It is a suggestion for fans of action RPGs, especially with that more classic feel.

Little Big Adventure: Twinsen’s Quest was a great PC golden age era title to bring back to the current age. However, even with the care that went into the visuals, soundtrack and story, the gameplay simplification took a lot of the personality from the original game. Along with a lazy movement and other technical issues, what could have been a grand adventure ended up becoming a small reminder.

The Restless Sheep & The Lone Wolf -A Tale of Cutthroat Lovers- brings a plot of violence, action and romance in an intriguing criminal underworld ambiance in Kabukicho. The story, despite its issues in character development, offers an immersive experience with Kurashiki's shady, detailed worldbuilding standing out, and a very good portrayal of it with vibrant colors and the excellent character design. However, the game experience is hindered by questionable choices in the sex scenes. If you manage to ignore these excesses, you'll find an intriguing story and a twisted romance and, for those with the guts and the disposition to face the visual novel's negative aspects, it may offer an experience that is at the very least curious.

8 / 10.0 - Ninja 1987
Dec 26, 2024

People who expected Ninja 1987 to be along the lines of Ninja Gaiden will end up frustrated by its softer challenge. However, if your wish is for a retro adventure with great level design alongside its retro visuals, this is an excellent choice. It's a neat title, accessible for any console or PC to enjoy with no worries.

I left Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind with mixed feelings. I played it both solo and in multiplayer, and although I had fun with my friends in a casual way, if I analyze it more critically when playing alone, its flaws start to become evident. Even though it’s beautiful and tries to excite every minute with its explosive presentation, we still don’t have the definitive Power Rangers beat ‘em up.

5.5 / 10.0 - Loco Motive
Dec 19, 2024

Loco Motive is charming at times, but the constant scars of its nature as the studio's first game prevent the experience from realizing its full potential. With a little more polish and a better balance between tragedy and comedy, Robust Games could have made something truly special, but they ended up with something frustratingly far from the finish line.

7 / 10.0 - NAIAD
Dec 18, 2024

Naiad stands out for its simplicity and beauty, offering a relaxing journey through a picturesque world. Although there are moments when the flow is interrupted by obscure puzzles and repetitive activities, the game succeeds by allowing each player to find their own rhythm, whether exploring every corner or simply gliding through the water. Furthermore, Naiad shows that there is magic in simplicity, making us appreciate this brief and unpretentious journey.

MachineGames understood really well the base material to make Indiana Jones and the Great Circle not only a great game by itself, but also an extra chapter that complements the franchise history. I believe this is a very welcome entrypoint for those who don't know the doctor's escapades, and who can get its influences while experiencing a gameplay worth of the best Wolfenstein titles by the developer.
