Button City is a short game with good ideas and good moments but ultimately offers little with its content. I believe that those with a strong nostalgia for arcades or even children can have fun with the game, but overall it is an unremarkable experience. Despite this, let's be clear: it is possible to see a visible commitment from the development team to create something unique and fun, with more experience, it is possible that the studio will deliver something even better in the future.

Even in that cozy couch co-op, Samurai Warriors 5 on Nintendo Switch performs wonderfully. It makes you feel comfortable asking for help to get through that objective-filled level you couldn't handle on your own. Thanks to the console's hybrid design, you can play anywhere without compromising the fun. And with all this quality in its favor, Samurai Warriors 5 holds the title of best musou game available for the Nintendo Switch family of consoles at this moment.

If you're not afraid to play something weird and off the beaten path, and if you're not afraid to go down a rabbit hole that might just turn into one of your favorite games — or one of the weirdest games you've ever played — The Silver Case 2425 is for you, delivering everything it promises and loads more.

Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed is a good game that manages to entertain players a lot and presents a really cool story. However, Acquire made a big mistake when deciding not to invest much in the remaster. The game is full of problems that greatly hinder the experience and make it impossible to recommend, especially for the asking price.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD continues the tradition of great titles in the Zelda franchise. Even 10 years after its original release, the game still manages to be very good, offering an extremely interesting narrative and a very peculiar gameplay that will please both veterans and newcomers.

Mario Golf: Super Rush is an extremely fun experience, as expected from a Mario sports game. The ideas that Camelot puts forward are interesting and work, creating yet another must-have multiplayer for the Nintendo Switch. If you are not used to playing with friends, the game may leave something to be desired with the amount of content, it is up to you to decide whether the promise of future updates is a valid exchange, there is always the option of waiting for the game to become more complete before buying it at launch.

Few Switch games can offer an intense yet satisfying portable experience like Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2. The title is definitely one of those skateboarding games that is made to be played anywhere in the world, whether on your TV at home or in a mall food court. Although the sacrifices required for the port to exist on the hybrid console are quite notable, those in no way sacrifice the soul of the game — which has remained young and radical from the 1990s to the present day.

Legend of Mana is a simple but unusual RPG, the non-linear progression, the combat, the stories, in every corner the game presents something peculiar, and this ends up being the best and worst of the game. The oddities make it a charming and standout experience, difficult to find in other games, on the other hand, it brings strange decisions that make progress difficult without a guide. For those who played the original and want to relive some moments, I believe that this re-release will serve them very well, bringing the game faithfully but with some improvements. For new players, it is necessary to understand the context that surrounds it and be interested in the mechanics. It seems to me like the kind of experience that can lead to one of two feelings: either you fall in love with the game's quirky approach or you simply consider it an average game.

Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection has some of the best and most influential games in the genre, but on the other hand, it also has Ninja Gaiden 3. Ideally, you could buy the first two games separately for a lower price, but that's unfortunately not possible. It's a bit disappointing how only one version of each game is available, but despite this, the first two games remain two of the best action games of the 6th and 7th generations of video games.

Worms Rumble works, it does what it intends to do, and it's a spin off that keeps the weapons theme going. However, It has more problems than I'm comfortable with on Switch. But anyway, I think it will die quickly, as we have more interesting options in the same style, but if you have maybe 2 friends who would like to play, maybe it's worth a try.

Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny is an epic adventure about determination and resilience, with all the silly and questionable humor that only Disgaea has to offer. It masterfully captures the essence of the series, while also trying to innovate within the franchise itself. The mechanics of Super Reincarnation may not reinvent the wheel, but they are very well executed within the narrative context and gameplay. It was fun to follow Zed and the charismatic cast of characters around him, all memorable and unique.

DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power is an incredibly fun experience that will keep you entertained for hours. The systems integration and attention to detail make it feel like nothing was left to chance; it's incredibly well-designed and definitely worth a try for that reason alone.

Alba is not a revolutionary or ambitious game, but it is an enjoyable experience from start to finish. It sends a positive message while being fun, as a game originally designed for a mobile platform, it fits perfectly on the Nintendo Switch. It's a good recommendation for children up to 10 years old, but it also works for adults, thanks to the nostalgia that the game conveys in its representation of childhood.

Fortunately, this is perhaps the best spin-off in the Earth Defense Force franchise. While I strongly believe that it won't attract a new audience, I hope that people give it a chance on Switch, and also, that veterans don't turn their eyes away. This game is legitimately good, and although the new identity doesn't appeal to me (I'm a boring old man), I can find some charming moments and smile at a few things here and there. This game brings many of the franchise's strengths and does what Iron Rain and Insect Armageddon failed to do: a dynamic inspired by what Earth Defense Force does well, but in a very eccentric and solid way.

Kowloon High-School Chronicle is a very fun RPG filled with good ideas, that deserved to have its chance in the West after so long. It has memorable characters, addresses several interesting subjects about Japanese mythology and real-world mysteries, and has a very interesting first person dungeon crawler combat system. However, several of its mechanics are extremely dated and/or very punishing, causing several moments of frustration throughout a campaign that becomes extremely difficult to finish in the last steps due to a lot of activities that the player has to manage in a limited time that the game fails to explain how it is all connected and important for you to be able to beat the game.

While World’s End Club isn’t perfect, I had a lot of fun overall. The game delivers an intense experience about friendship and persistence, a story that, given its tone, we would normally see in a more adult setting. However, seeing these adversities being overcome through companionship is a unique and charming combination that only World’s End Club can provide. Seeing the intense events and the reasonably cruel reality of the game’s events from the perspective of a group of children is a brilliant and very well executed idea.

Miitopia is a very interesting experiment and I would say that it is largely successful one, the game shows the universality of miis even years after the launch of the Wii, the creative and humorous writing is also wonderful, highlighting the more comical side of Nintendo. Unfortunately, the experience was unable to maintain my constant engagement throughout all sections, mainly due to a certain “automation” in the gameplay, creating tedious sections. The recommendation applies mainly to those who want casual fun, to play in short periods and even have fun with family members by placing their Mii in the game.

The Famicom Detective Club duology feels like it was made as a single game. The stories, despite their divergent themes, manage to complement each other perfectly, as well as functioning as standalone stories—the best of both worlds. Despite being two completely remade games, make no mistake: Famicom Detective Club is a product of its time and won't be as user-friendly as your typical visual novels. However, the part that hasn't aged a day is its story, which, despite not building characters with multiple layers of complexity, manages to make them deep enough to be interesting.

I conclude that the three titles — Atelier Sophie ~The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book~ DX, Atelier Firis ~The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey~ DX, and Atelier Lydie & Suelle ~The Alchemists and the Mysterious Painting~ DX — are special in their own way, each with its own individuality whether in how we play or in its simple narrative, as well as having cohesive connections between them that bring continuity to the objectives of our protagonists, offering good fan-service to fans. For Nintendo Switch owners, they are necessary additions and enrich the series' library of games, in addition to being excellent at what they propose, although Atelier Firis suffers from constant FPS drops during combat and some stuttering while wandering around the overworld.

Shantae is a game that deserves to be played by platformers and metroidvania fans. Despite showing its age, the half-genie's first adventure is fun and thanks to the relationship more people can now enjoy it. And the good news is that if you like this title, the other games in the franchise are also available on the Switch. Just be warned in advance, this is not an easy game and it will test your patience quite a bit.
