This racing simulator isn't for the faint at heart. Without any real introduction or soft landing, you're expected to drive like a pro and be able to drive near-perfect laps. Without that, you're locked out of the main course, the career mode, and have to resort to riding single tracks. AI is hit-or-miss and races very aggressively. Definitely not a game for beginners or those looking for an arcade racer.

Ride 4 is an incredibly detailed racing game that will have motorcycle enthusiasts very pleased. Not being too interested in motorcycles myself, I’ve enjoyed learning how to race on them in this game. The difficulty of the game despite the racing assists is a bit too high for my liking, and it would have benefited from having some form of tutorial race to practice on before tackling real races. The graphics are extremely impressive and despite the difficulty, I can feel my skills getting better. I just wish I could at least finish the first cup and unlock more of the game.

Ultimately, Ride 4 is a rare beast: a motorcycle racing game with the potential for mass appeal and difficulty that is open to all. Personally, while I am a fan of racing games in general, I have always struggled with vehicles of the two-wheeled variety. They have been so unforgiving and can be quite isolating, requiring far too much effort for the casual gamer. Not with Ride 4 though. This is a genuinely fun and well-crafted racer with the potential for immense longevity, both in single player and multiplayer. As motorcycle racing games go, this very well might be the best I have ever played.

RIDE 4 is the best-looking bike-based racing game yet, and the visuals are backed-up by handling and physics that have been noticeably fine-tuned. This is about as good as it gets for those who like donning virtual leather and tearing up a track on just two wheels, providing they’re not too fussed about human competition.

Milestone's newest game is as good as Ride 3! There are a lot of good features and elements in Ride 4. Motorcycles models, customization, multiple of vehicles, challenging handling and etc make Ride 4 a good game. With all these good aspects, the game is not perfect yet because of some gameplay and technical issues that may be bother you. By the way if you like to control a motorcycle and race with it, you can enjoy Ride 4 and accept some of its problems.

The development team at Milestone did their best to give Ride 4 a fresh look and save it from being repetitive, and they didn't fail. If you are a fan and looking for a good Motorbike game to play in 2020, Ride 4 is not a bad choice.

If you’re completely new to the series, the learning curve can be steep but for veterans, RIDE 4 exemplifies simulation with deep fine-tuning and modification options.

Another typical racing game from Milestone, with rich content, but without bigger news.

Ride 4 is definitely a niche game, not only because of the theme, but because of the level of technical demands it proposes. Visually, one of the best of its kind, it brings a lot of content for lovers of the two wheels, but with a flawed artificial intelligence and a cruel learning curve, it is recommended only for specialists, or at least, for the most patient.

Ride 4 offers a tonne of content for those who itching for a deep dive into an expansive career mode. Race all across the world by winning licenses to open up access into better and more advanced events. Gain affinity with various bikes and manufacturers on the way to becoming the greatest rider. However, a weak online mode, a lack of other real features outside of the career mode and having a steep learning curve for beginners prevents Ride 4 from being the complete package. With plenty of bikes on offer, and upgrades on both the 'stock' and 'racing' side of things to allow for vast improvements over the troublesome AI, this is one of the better digital biking experiences out there.

If you have a PS5 or Xbox Series X, there’s never been a better time to play RIDE 4. It’s a challenging racer that may drive you up the wall at times, but it’s so rewarding when you finally tame the bikes in your garage and start being able to truly compete. It’s just a shame that, since its last-gen launch last October, nothing has been done to bolster its online offerings or make it a little bit easier for new players to get onboard. Still, the best bike-based racing game has assuredly just got better. If you love bikes, you need RIDE 4; it’s as simple as that.

For series' veterans, RIDE 4 will be an enjoyable experience, but for newcomers, there will be times where it will feel like the game won't actually let you play it.

In the end, Ride 4 is the type of game that offers up something for everyone and is the type of motorcycle racing title that can grab my interest for hours on end. Being as it’s sort of the Gran Turismo of motorcycle games, it might be the title that can do just that for you as well.

A true and gorgeous recreation of motorcycle racing. Scratch beneath the surface though and you'll more than a few chinks.

Ride 4 does simulation motorcycle racing incredibly well. Its collection of licensed bikes and ways to tweak them is unparalleled. However, basic game modes, rigid progression, dry presentation, and a lack of accessibility for new players stops it from reaching the heights of other sim racers on the market.

Overall, RIDE 4 was my first attempt at getting my toes wet for motorcycles both in general and racing wise. While excited going into this new world, I found myself uninterested and not entertained. Most racing games really bring me in and keep me there technically. As someone who works with their hands a lot and wants to know how things work/make them go faster, racing games really get me going. Herewith RIDE 4, I didn’t really fill that. It felt lackluster and just kind of plain.

Did Milestone want to release his Ride 4 absolutely before the end of the year in order to finish the PS4 / Xbox One cycle? No one will probably have the answer in the near future. Still, if the game is improving well on technical aspects (graphics, modeling and AI) it has lost all the mood that its previous opus had managed to generate. It is now a game of motorcycles on circuits that merges into the category.
