Kena: Bridge of Spirits Reviews
One of the best action-adventure games of recent years, Kena: Bridge of Spirits has made its way to Switch 2 and it's as enjoyable as ever. The visuals have taken a bit of a hit but they're still gorgeous. The only truly disappointing thing here is the lack of a performance mode, meaning you're stuck playing at 30fps.
Bridge of Spirits isn't overly unique in its gameplay, but it compensates for that with a charming story and beautiful environments. Even in handheld mode, the game holds up well and the charm remains intact. Kena: Bridge of Spirits doesn't outstay its welcome, and with luck it will continue the practice of what were once PlayStation exclusives finding a home on Nintendo platforms.
That said, I found Kena: Bridge of Spirits to be one of the best treats of the year, both for the eyes and for the soul. Not only does it show elaborate craftsmanship, but it also feels like it was infused with joy and awareness. I'm happy it's here, and I look forward to seeing where Kena's bridge can lead.
Although Kena doesn't have mechanics or mind-boggling gameplay that we've never seen before, it's a production you'll enjoy a lot of time with.

A good first attempt by a studio that has only worked on animation, but not enough substance in the gameplay to keep you hooked to the very end.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits for the Nintendo Switch 2 is a fantastic port of an underrated game. The visuals still look gorgeous, even when played in handheld mode, and the gameplay feels great despite the "lesser hardware." I wish there were more performance/quality options, a few new features, and the base game's lackluster narrative is a bit noticeable. However, this is a must-buy for those who haven't played the original game and are looking for a new action-adventure game to sink their teeth into.
All in all, Kena: Bridge of Spirits is an intoxicating adventure that I couldn’t put down. The heady mix of exploration, adventure, puzzle-solving and accessible but challenging combat is moulded together by Ember Lab fantastically well. The news that a sequel, Kena: Scars of Kosmora, is coming out shortly makes me incredibly excited!
