After two years of early access, Killsquad is launching in a strong position to build on a solid, playable, and enjoyable foundation.

Killsquad feels like a game that's taking a long time to cook. As much as I enjoyed my time playing it, it didn't always hold my attention, lacking a certain special quality. While it's already come on leaps and bounds, I hope Killsquad continues to improve with time.

Killsquad is a game that evolved significantly since it first arrived onto Early Access two years ago, and the result is a solid twin-stick shooter with looter elements. When it comes to loot drops, the balance is unfortunately a bit off, but overall the game is a fun mix of genres.

Whether you're playing solo or co-op, Killsquad's skill-based, challenging, and fast paced combat is a triumph. While the lacklustre mission design and unexciting loot end up letting it down a little, this one can still be a blast to jump into if you and your friends are up for a grind.

Killsquad can be passingly fun in short doses, but it has too many significant issues to be an easy recommendation for even the genre's biggest fans.

Killsquad is a good attempt at merging a few ideas from other genres and coming up with an arcade-style isometric shooter with a loot grind.

Killsquad is a great twin-stick shooter for players who are looking for a new title and want to spend time with friends in an action-packed game with lots of customization options. That said, it's important to be aware that the single-player experience isn't as fun as it could be and the progression isn't as straightforward as other games in the genre.

If it released in 2010, Killsquad would be considered a much better game but there are simply so many better options out there now.

The years haven't been kind to Killsquad: if when originally released it wasn't already great, now its arrival on consoles is just ok. The biggest problems are due to the connection and the creation of teams, not to mention the somewhat generic proposal in general. There is fun in battles and missions, especially among friends, and with rewards that don't depend on loot boxes, but nothing that justifies a long-term investment. The suggestion is only for those who are really lovers of the genre or had already checked out the title on the PC and want to have it on the console.

The game has a number of problems related to the visuals, the game mechanics and the accessibility. But Killsquad is a very addictive game when you start playing it and a horde of monsters and robots fill the screen and you need to kill them all. If you like the cooperative shooters maybe you can give it a try.

A very fun game that exudes personality and quality, an example that Spain is a power in the creation of video games.

You have so many tools in your arsenal and absolute freedom to use them in Killsquad that the only thing keeping you from having a total blast is your own imagination. It is understandable that the sheer amount of possibilities could be overwhelming for newcomers but if you stick with the chaos and you will be greatly rewarded.

In KillSquad we can choose between five hitmen with unique abilities to travel the galaxy and complete different missions in exchange for succulent rewards. It is an ideal title to play cooperatively with friends.

Although I really enjoy Killsquad, it is not without its shortcomings. It has all the groundwork for an amazing game ahead. But without a better loot system, more diverse zones, and some tweaking of the gameplay overall, it will fall short of its full potential. Thus I award Killsquad the Thumb Culture Silver Award. Here’s hoping for a long life after launch. If you enjoyed this review, be sure to check out my previous reviews here.
