SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake Reviews
Overall, The Cosmic Shake is very good, but its performance on Nintendo's console and several technical issues hinder what could have been the best game featuring the world's most beloved sponge to date. I sincerely hope Purple Lamp gets another chance with the franchise, as they've proven their worth with the game's excellent design and just need to polish this gem.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake doesn't aim to revolutionize, opting instead for a canonical and predictable approach. Despite being too classic in mechanics, the team managed to enrich it with some pleasant variations that add a bit of zest to this multiverse adventure. Fun and colorful in its simplicity, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake could have dared more, but it still provided a satisfying and dignified experience. If you're a fan of the funny sponge, feel free to adjust the rating to your liking.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake gives Nickelodeon's cute sponge a new foray into the world of 3D platformers, two and a half years after the remake of the beloved Battle for Bikini Bottom. Purple Lamp Studios makes a solid, down-to-earth product, full of love for the source material, strong in the humor typical of the animated series (thanks in part to the original voice actors), classic gameplay and a commendable presentation. It is surprising, in such a polished picture, to note some levity related to the management of transitions, overly stingy menus, and an overly accommodating difficulty curve. The Cosmic Shake, despite some limitations, is thus a great product for fans but also an enjoyable and fun title for everyone else.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a game that fans of the show will definitely enjoy. It features faithful portrayal of the characters and its likeable humour, along with phenomenal writing and voice acting. While the platform gameplay can get a bit monotonous and the addition of collecting multiple costumes is not enough to keep the game fresh for repeated playthroughs, the unique environments and entertaining story make it worth checking out for any SpongeBob fan.
People picking this game up because it's SpongeBob will get a good dose of it, and a pretty fun gaming time too.
I’d venture to say that this kept my attention more than Battle for Bikini Bottom. If you like current day SpongeBob and platformers, this will probably scratch a specific itch for a few hours.
Overall, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a fun 3D platformer that will appeal primarily to a younger audience or those that are fans of the SpongeBob franchise. It doesn’t do anything too groundbreaking when it comes to the platforming genre but does provide some visually diverse environments to explore and plenty of references to the series that lead to a great deal of laugh out loud moments. It’s great that it’s fully voiced and that the original voice actors are reprising their roles. It feels like a real celebration of the SpongeBob franchise as a whole and I’m still very much onboard to play the next video game the series spawns.
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a fun platformer for kids that plays it a just a bit too safe. It's definitely not groundbreaking in anyway, but still enjoyable.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a fun 3D platformer that any fan of the series will enjoy to play. You can tell this game wasn’t a hastily thrown together, cheap cash in. The 10 hour platformer is charming and F.U.N. and it will definitely have you singing Sweet Victory.
Fans of the franchise may be eager to try out "SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake "and compare it to the series - to which they will be plenty delighted.
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is not my usual game. However, variety is the spice of life, so when the chance came, I thought, why not. And so, with childish enthusiasm I loaded up the game and prepared to venture for a stroll through Bikini Bottom.
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake takes a different look at the SpongeBob multiverse and while doing this, it manages to bring the old generation platform - adventure games to the new generation with improved controls.

Snappy dialogue brings the occasional laugh, and the experience remains pleasant enough throughout its entire runtime – but a devotion to the past, and a seeming lack of interesting ideas means The Cosmic Shake simply slides off the brain, like a passing thought.
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a fun-to-play 3D platformer that gives a solid representation of the TV show. While I enjoy having a good family-friendly game to let the children play, there is no ground-breaking game mechanics as such, however, there is a lot of enjoyment to be had while trying to rescue all of your friends and restore Bikini Bottom.
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a competent 3D platformer that doesn't reinvent the wheel, but provided plenty of fun.
Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake is the perfect example of a license being treated with the care, love and respect that it warrants. It’s a more than worthy successor to the brilliant Spongebob games of old and will appeal to fans of the series, old and new. While it won’t break new ground in the platforming space and it is disappointing we don’t have native current-gen support, I can’t imagine a spiritual successor to the likes of Battle of Bikini Bottom being made any better than what we have here.
While it could be more ambitious, especially when it concerns the difficulty level, it's also a very accessible and fun effort, with the original series' voice actors adding a perfect touch to an environment that's marvelously presented by the visual representation of Bikini Bottom.

"SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake" will probably only pick you up if you're twelve years old or a fan of the series - but that's everyone anyway. Either one or the other. In the unlikely event that you don't know the little sponge: Try it anyway, if typical comic humor is exactly your thing and you just want to dive into funny worlds for a few hours.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Cosmic Shake is a fun experience that captures the spirit of the series perfectly, but it’s a shame it doesn’t offer more variety and nuance in its gameplay. It’s very simple in design and lacks any real challenge, whilst I’d also argue the previous release (which was a remastered edition of a game from 2003) gave the player more freedom and diversity in how they play and explore the world. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad game by any means and I have no doubt that SpongeBob fans will love it, but it does mean that it might not really capture the imagination of platforming fans who are unfamiliar with the series. The game gets all of the basics spot on and deserves praise for that, but you shouldn’t expect it to do anything that’ll surprise you during its simplistic adventure.
It could have ended up with a boring, old-fashioned 3D platformer. However, the features for SpongeBob fans somehow turned the game's outdated style to feel like an old-school. If you can indulge in the series' humor and SpongeBob's new look, you will find some classical fun with this game.
