Final Fantasy XV is an incredible journey across a unique world with interesting, fairly layered characters and awe-inspiring moments of epic visuals. It is a must play for fans and newcomers to the Final Fantasy series, and while it almost satisfies that expectation that comes from ten years of development, it just simply isn't perfect. Although, Noctis' story will live on as a highlight in the Final Fantasy anthology for many years to come.

The first is an amazingly interesting world-exploration game filled with great characters, interesting concepts, with the potential to expand; or a nonsensical, linear story game that feels it does not need to explain major portions of itself and leaves the player asking themselves "Why?" constantly. The world exploration, side quests, hunts, and clever travel banter is worth the purchase but the main story is not.

Final Fantasy XV is an ok game for the most part. My biggest complaints are with the lackluster story, the lack of that "Final Fantasy" feel thanks to the modernized world, and the occasional technical issues. Is it truly a Final Fantasy game for fans and first timers? I don't think so. All the changes they made to the standard Final Fantasy formula don't necessarily sit well with previous games. Would I still recommend FFXV? If you're a true JRPG fan looking for a change, absolutely.

Is Final Fantasy XV everything it ought to be? For fans, yes. Without question, this is the Final Fantasy game you've been waiting for. That's actually surprising given how tumultuous its decade-long development as been. For first-timers, it depends how tolerant you are of narrative failings. Look past that, and you're treated to fantastic moment to moment gameplay, and an intricate set of systems that will have you coming back for more.

Generally, Final Fantasy XV is a good game, But not for the fans of the series who waited so many years for it. The visuals are good and the game's universe is huge and beautiful, but the story is one of the worst in the series and the gameplay really suffers from lack of dept.

Final Fantasy XV wasn't a bad game, but after all that hype, and being a first time player, I was disappointed with what was offered. There's many features about the game that I can praise like the combat and dialogue, but there's those negatives that makes it a disappointing first experience. I feel this is going to be a game with very mixed opinions, and I'm sure there's many playing it early who think it's a great game, but for me personally, this was a good yet disappointing game.

Despite it's flaws, Final Fantasy XV is a milestone achievement: not just for being completed, but for being completed with polish, aplomb and love.

Final Fantasy XV is a return to form for Square Enix, a showcase of their willingness to adapt more Western approaches in their game development whilst also keeping what gave the series it's charm, flair and personality.

A new direction for the series, with an interesting and rich world, great graphics and music, and a fast paced and intense battle system, albeit one that requires a bit of getting used to. The cast might not be to everyone's taste, and, surprisingly for the series, the story is the game's weakest aspect, which might be the price of going open world, but ultimately the game succeeds in presenting most of the series' core values in a modern format while keeping its identity intact.

The wait was worth it. Final Fantasy XV is one of the best games in the series since the PS2 era. Its graphic quality is impeccable, character design is also terrific. The battle system, despite some camera issues, is fun and enjoyable. Thanks to Yoko Shimomura, music feels great, dramatic and fun. The game has a lot of content and very high standards when it comes to animations. FFXV may have some glitches here and there, but that does not affect the overall experience. Final Fantasy XV is a game that veteran and new fans will enjoy from beginning to end.

Despite a divided feel, torn between what it was and what it plans to be, Final Fantasy XV has a lot to offer. If you're a diehard JRPG fan, then it's a positive sign that the series can cross over to a new format. And if you're just looking for an open world adventure, Final Fantasy XV certainly has that in spades, while doing just enough things differently to separate it from the likes of Dragon Age and Elder Scrolls.

Final Fantasy XV is a breath of fresh air for the series which was starting to lose its significance after the release of Final Fantasy XIII. It is one of the best open world game on the current generation consoles and a return to the form for the franchise.

Final Fantasy XV marries elements that made the series so well loved, with fresh new ideas and inspiration from Western RPGs, and manages to be both a love letter to the series and something brand new. It's so easy to get attached and invested in the story of Noct and crew, despite the game's several flaws, but there are indeed too many aspects that hold the adventure back from reaching its full potential. There are key moments that will be pleasing to long-time fans, but just be aware that there are some drawbacks to this otherwise engrossing role-playing escapade.

Some parts of this game will shine more than others for many gamers, and people will remember this game differently. This is a big adventure on the usual scale of a Final Fantasy game and we can see the great production value behind it. But the game lacked the vision to bring its best parts together to make it the great overall experience that we all wanted.

Final Fantasy XV is the result of the designers being out of touch and being unable to make any sort of connection with the players. It has a really rough start and is a game with high highs and extremely low lows. It is both a technical achievement and a game design disaster. It is capable of really clever storytelling and character development, while also failing at the basics of telling a simple story. Final Fantasy XV offers a huge amount of land to explore that feels ultimately small due to how few points of interest it actually has. More often than not, this hardly feels like an RPG at times, and yet because of how strange this game is, it might be worth a look. In the end, maybe Final Fantasy XV needed another 10 years of development considering how unfinished it feels.

While it occasionally buckles under its own ambition and the game falters somewhat as the plot ramps up, overall 'Final Fantasy XV' is a beautiful, exciting game that I dearly loved. It may not be the best game I've played this year, but it is almost certainly my favorite, and Square Enix has built an incredible, extremely unique open-world. While I'm not sure I want 'FFXVI' to follow suit and be an open-world like this one, I'd absolutely love to see them expand upon some of the ideas presented here in future. A remarkable return to form for a franchise that many felt had lost its way.

Final Fantasy XV has a ton of surprises for you. We have been waiting a very long time for this game, but now that the wait is finally over, I can certainly say it was worth it. There are many things to do in a game with gorgeous environments, massive monsters and a ton of side-quests, so I'm sure you're going to love this one.

When it's at its best, generally during the latter third of the game, the results are often phenomenal. At its worst, you'll wonder how it can pass as a Final Fantasy game. On the whole though, the good far outweighs the bad, making Final Fantasy XV a flawed but essential title for fans of the long-running series.
