F1 Manager 2023 Reviews
At the end of the day, I consider the value of these sports management simulators to be an opportunity to teach the nuances of the sport to laypeople. By understanding the underlying tactics and management structure that goes into those on-field or on-track performances, you do come to a much deeper understanding of the sport itself. Football Manager understands this, but F1 Manager doesn’t quite. Not yet. The presentation of the information is accessible and even elegant, but this is an enormously complex sport, and the developers haven’t found a way to translate this so it’s palatable to people who aren’t already deeply invested in the sport. As enjoyable, comprehensive, and well-designed as F1 Manager is, there’s still work to go to get it to the standards of Football Manager in supporting people to develop a passion for the sport.
If you didn't pick up F1 Manager 2022 but enjoy the idea of a game where you call the shots for a Formula 1 team, F1 Manager 2023 is in a very favorable position for your consideration. It makes strong use of its status as an official Formula 1 game and is ultimately a strong simulation game. The new features don't differentiate the new game too much from the old title. More than anything, the new game needs further refinement of the features it already has, along with enhanced feedback to the player over what the feature impacts can be. The game is far from a bad ride, but it's mighty similar to the one thatwe just had.
F1 Manager 23 promises to deliver a fantastic fix for those that want to be in control from a mission statement, rather than making marks on the tarmac.
F1 Manager 2023 can be tough to love and it’s definitely one you’ll need more than a passing interest in the sport to play. However, once you get into its layers, build out your tactics, understand the optics, and familiarise yourself with a broad range of strategies, the experience truly opens up to you and can be incredibly fulfilling. Race Replay also adds a fun side detour that helps break up the intensity of the campaign and remind yourself why you love this sport.
Overall, F1 Manager 2023 is the game for F1 statistics nut out there. Clearly designed for those who appreciate the intricacies of running an F1 team more than the actual driving of the cars, F1 Manager 2023 is a step up from last year's game; but barely enough. We wished for new features such as the ability to store a track setup or even custom designs. But since things are headed in the right direction albeit incrementally, this would do. For now. Whether you're a Gunther Steiner or a Christian Horner, F12023 allows you to chart your own unique career as an F1 team manager. Mid-season starts this weekend so it's the perfect time to pick up the game - otherwise what are you going to do in between practice sessions? Talk to your kids?
The improvements that Frontier Development has added, have really brought the game to a new level. And I would urge any F1 fans (who do not just watch F1 for the crashes) to buy and download the game.
F1 Manager 2023 is a stark improvement over the previous game, keeping it depth and complexity but managing to make everything easier to control and keeping us constantly challenged and involved. If you love Formula One and want to play the role of a Team Principal, this is a must buy.

F1 Manager 2023 is a neat take on the sports management genre. It has enough systems and complexity to appeal to anyone that got a kick out of the Football Manager series. However, it seems like the series is poised to be an annual title. It may be that consumers will soon just be paying for different rosters and scenarios rather than updated gameplay.
F1 Manager 2023 remains a fun experience for all fans of management games and Formula 1. The title features a fairly comprehensive team manager career mode. Nevertheless, the new features lack polish, and I would have appreciated the option of starting a career in lower categories before moving up to the premier class. Especially as Frontier Developments already has the licenses for the latter. The title is mainly aimed at players who haven't played the previous opus, while the lack of new features could put off older players.

With several minor improvements F1 Manager 2023 might be more than just a small update. But overall these small changes don't make the sequel a much better game. In sum, it's enough to keep the pure solid level of its predecessor, nothing more, nothing less.

F1 Manager 2023 takes a good management simulator and makes it better. The new additions to the race day experience as well as new challenge scenarios, enhance the Formula 1 management experience and bring the high-octane sport to life in a whole new way.
Frontier has consistently one-upped itself throughout the development process of F1 Manager 2023, making for a consistently engaging, impressively nuanced take on a sport that's all about sweating the small stuff. F1 Manager 2023 is a lap ahead of its predecessor in nearly every way, and one of the best management sims around.
