Days of Doom tries to do something new by fusing together turn-based strategy and roguelite. The end result, however, can only be said to be partially successful. Both the battles and the growth are characterized by slow times that end up diluting the fun: in the short run you have fun, but the risk of getting tired soon is real. The art direction is nice, though derivative at times. Overall a good pastime, but one that risks slipping away without leaving a trace.

A solid strategy experience isn't quite enough to elevate Days of Doom past its more varied competition on the indie market, but there's just enough meat on the zombie bones.

Days of Doom had a lot of potential, but an utterly unforgiveable amount of hard crashes 'doom' much of its hope for a decent experience. Even when it is not crashing, there were just too many things that really should have been different. Classes are far too boring, plenty of missed opportunities for more weapons, any skills, or any sort of depth. For people looking for a game that had good potential, but blew it so badly, this is a good example to study.

Days of Doom is a competent combination of rogue-lite elements and turn and tile-driven combat. Battles are tense, especially when bigger and boss enemies arrive, and require players to carefully think about their character’s abilities and positioning.

Days of Doom has an appealing comic book presentation and some nice ideas but it doesn’t do enough to standout from other tactical roguelites.

Days of Doom is a fun mix between roguelite and tactical RPG that keeps you entertained in large part for its simplicity. Although the game manages to capture well the feeling of wanting to play just one more run, its simplicity also ends up limiting the time you can enjoy it.

Days of Doom has some interesting ideas, but it starts slow. However, once it gets going it can lead to an enjoyable couple of hours.

Days of Doom has a promising premise yet its mix of genres doesn't accomplish anything exceptional beyond its unique cast of characters.

Days of Doom is fun for such a small game; I don’t feel I could play it for hours at a time. The overall combat is equally enjoyable and easy to learn, thanks to the skill descriptions explaining how they work pretty well. I think the Bagbile zombie is the most annoying enemy in the game. It has a lot of health, hits hard and can use an AoE move that covers a large area. This would lead to my team dying needlessly due to not killing it quickly, and when there were two, it was more annoying. It would be nice if there were more help when trying to heal, as the game doesn’t offer health items much. The bosses in the game are okay, but nothing to write home about; I was confused that there isn’t a boss at the end of each stage. I did download Days of Doom on my Steam Deck, and apart from the small text, it ran really well.

Great potential but comes a bit short in the end.

Days of Doom is a thrilling, strategic, and relentlessly replayable experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It brilliantly marries the zombie apocalypse theme with tactical RPG elements, delivering an adventure that is equal parts challenging and rewarding. If you have a soft spot for zombies, enjoy strategic gameplay, and relish the thrill of roguelite progression, then Days of Doom is an absolute must-play title.

Days of Doom is an excellent example of a good turn-based game that is both accessible, but offers enough challenge. The events on the map are interesting to read and the choices you make remain risky. Additionally, you need to make sure you don't take too many detours because you can run out of gas if you don't collect enough. There is also a merchant where you can purchase resources and purchase inventory. The most important thing is learning the characters, which in itself happens fairly automatically. Based on that you can make a plan on the battlefield. Completing Days of Doom is quite a challenge, especially as the game only seems to get more difficult with each walkthrough.
