Persona 3 Reload - Episode Aigis: The Answer Reviews
To look back on how The Answer not only expands on the story Reload, but also pushes its messages further, the best way to describe it is that it shows the ugly side of life itself. You’re going to lose people, and you’re going to process it differently from others. All the while you’re going to be forced to go through more of the dull, and repetitive parts of your life that you grow numb to. But through it all, you will always reflect on what got you started and what keeps you going. The final shot of the story is closing the dorm door and leaving, ending a series of memories and moving on. You don’t want it to end, and you can never experience it all again for the first time no matter how much you wish you could.
Episode Aigis: The Answer adds another chapter to Persona 3 Reload, which keeps us entertained after the end of the main game. In terms of the story, it is almost essential to complete the actual story first before venturing into the DLC, even if we start at a very low level and are therefore introduced to the game mechanics once again. New theurgies and Metis as a new character also expand our repertoire with fresh elements to explore, even if the android as a character can be a little tiring at times. If we look at Persona 3 Reload with the DLC as a whole, Episode Aigis: The Answer offers a nice continuation of the story, which raises just enough new questions to not completely confuse, but brings the story itself to a well-rounded conclusion. Instead of Tartarus, the Abyss of Time now awaits us, which offers much more frequent changes of environment, but still can't shine with excessive variety in the long run. Due to the significantly higher proportion of combat and the almost complete absence of everyday life, the DLC also becomes much more of a chore over the course of the 20 to 30 hours of gameplay than was the case in the main game. Nevertheless, Episode Aigis: The Answer is of course a great opportunity to reunite with the beloved characters of S.E.E.S. and a very good addition to the main game due to the fundamentally fun gameplay and the large scope.

For all fans of Persona 3: Reload, Episode Aigis is a rather interesting piece of content worth buying, but for those who couldn't quite get into the basic experience, this DLC is avoidable. It is an expansion that struggles to justify its existence, a task that seems impossible considering the spectacular ending of Persona 3: Reload, but it is not without merit.

Persona is a series that is very close to our hearts, and we had very high expectations because we know that each of its products is usually great but unfortunately our hopes were not met. This additional content does not provide any answers and, indeed, at some point we could not even understand where exactly it was going: Episode Aigis is a DLC that simply extends our time with S.E.E.S. without adding anything.

Persona 3 Reload: Episode Aigis provides a poignant epilogue to the beloved JRPG, focusing on Aigis and delving into the aftermath of the main story. The narrative deepens character arcs and themes, but the gameplay mainly consists of tedious dungeon crawling, lacking the social elements that define the series.
Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis -The Answer- is a complicated expansion pack. The narrative is brilliant and continues the series' fantastic character writing. However, the gameplay loop of the DLC is far more monotonous than the original release. Further, it's price of $35 is hard to justify compared to other examples in both the medium and the series. As such, it may not be worth it for many players unless the price drops or they're a hardcore Persona fan.
Episode Aigis -The Answer- brings back the atmosphere and tactical combat that Persona 3 Reload is known for, offering a deeper look at the characters and their emotions after the main events. The epilogue adds interesting challenges and new difficulty options, as well as adjustments that make the experience less punishing than the original version, with highlights including a stylish setting and a reworked soundtrack. However, the repetitive exploration and lack of variety in activities outside of combat can make the campaign tiresome. Without the rich mix of social simulation and exploration that made Persona 3 Reload such an engaging experience, Episode Aigis is an epilogue that is recommended primarily for avid fans of the series.

Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis: The Answer works brilliantly as an epilogue, bringing the story of Persona 3 Reload to a definitive conclusion. While the frequent battles and exploration may not be for everyone, the structure and gameplay make sure it never feels tedious.
Episode Aigis - The Answer wonderfully expands the story of Persona 3 Reload, offers the usual fun fights, superb soundtrack and serves as a great, very emotional epilogue, but suffers from the same old dungeons and little aside from a lengthy combat-loop.

Episode Aigis is a great addition to Persona 3 Reload, if only for the additional story content and new battle challenges. But this episode sheds too much from the base game, leaving a tedious adventure in the wake for those looking for The Answer. ∎
