Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed Reviews
Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed remains a strange game but one that's compelling and rewarding. It's excellent that this Wii classic is this enjoyable all of these years after its initial release and it looks great this time around to boot. 🖌️
Epic Mickey Rebrushed is an example of how remasters can revitalize a classic without losing its essence. With refined controls, updated graphics, and a nuanced narrative, it stands out as a must-play experience for those seeking nostalgia with a modern touch. Minor performance and pacing issues don’t overshadow the charm of a well-crafted port that brings back the magic of the Disney universe.

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is still a solid platformer distinguished by its paint and thinner mechanics. Perhaps the combat model needs some refinement, but it's still worth checking out. The artistic style is simply enchanting and the gameplay is fun!

HQ and Purple Lamp Studios have brought another classic back and better than ever! Though Epic Mickey: Rebrushed can be a little repetitive and still has some cameras issues, the game looks and feels better than ever.
Armed with a magical paintbrush that can paint or thin out obstacles to uncover the path forward, Purple Lamb has given players a colorful and delightful remake that is faithful to its original release. Truly delivering Mickey’s best and most epic adventure finally for last and next-gen consoles and PC.
Epic Mickey Rebrushed is a successful remake, a production that manages to restore lustre to a game that was appreciated in its time but also characterised by many macroscopic flaws. Purple Lamp has managed to limit many of these problems, in some cases fixing them, even if some of them are inevitably linked to the title's concept. However, the work done is enough to give Epic Mickey a new chance, which now shines brighter than ever before with its distinct creativity.

I don’t know exactly how faithful Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is to the original version, but I know that it shows that beneath the waggle controls, it turns out there was a pretty enjoyable 3D platformer waiting to be found.
Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a decent remaster that improves on its foundation, which is sure to be a delight to platformer fans everywhere.
After rescuing cartoons from obscurity, Epic Mickey himself needed to be rescued to return to action with modernized visuals and gameplay. Thus, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a remake that improves on what came before and highlights the aspects that were already good in the mouse's unusual dark adventure, but its inconsistencies cannot hide the fact that the basis came from a more limited era.

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is an improved remake of the 2010 classic, now available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch. It retains the original charm, with graphical improvements and new mechanics, but could have made more use of the visual potential and challenged players more.

It’s fast, challenging and enormous fun to play.
At worst, shortcomings like the lukewarm new abilities and the glaring absence of voice acting limit the remake from reaching its true potential. If anything, these missteps speak more to the game's missed opportunities than a supposed lack of quality.
Now in the end, I sadly can’t say if Disney’s Epic Mickey: Rebrushed does the previous version justice. But what I can say is that it’s a blast! The world is fun and with the lighting improvements, it does great at setting a darker tone and look. Seeing classic characters was cool, especially since I love classic cartoons (particularly Rubber hose animation). Combat is enjoyable and not tedious. New enemies get introduced just as I’m feeling bored with the current ones, which helps it stay fresh.
Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a charming and original platformer that, despite its slower pace, dated storytelling, and occasional control issues, will delight fans of the original while still offering an enjoyable experience.

Developer Purple Lamp successfully brings the Wii original into the year 2024 with mostly fully new graphics that (more or less) make the remake look like a current production. The action adventure is too undemanding for a must-have. But with its creative gameplay and as an atmospheric Homage to Disney classics it's worth buying not simply for fans of the original.

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is an excellent remaster of one of the Wii's best games. It fixes its shortcomings, adds to it with quality-of-life changes, and most importantly makes it available to all on modern platforms. Rebrushed does a good job being both a 3D platformer and a narrative driven-adventure title, sprinkled in with a lot of love for old Disney animation---a fun, unique adventure game for all.
Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a product of its time, and Purple Lamp has done a fine enough job at rebuilding its world and tending to maintain what it was, even if I truly feel it needed some more work to make it fun for today’s standards. Despite my issues with the core game still being a bit too outdated, this is easily the best version of the game as it is considerably better looking and has a far better framerate. It doesn’t bring anything new to the genre that you haven’t seen before, and despite the Paint and Thinner mechanics knocking at that door, they are far too basic to really be revolutionary or inventive, even for the time. Epic Mickey was a fine enough game 14 years ago, but now, it’s an outdated relic that is the definition of paint by number.
Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a remake done the right way. Not only does it look and play better than the original, but the original creators were consulted and gave their input as well.
Epic Mickey: Rebrushed fixes many of the issues the original game had to craft a much-improved version of the hidden gem. A few irritating issues persist, but for the most part, this is the way Epic Mickey was always meant to be experienced.
