For wrestling fans looking for an entertaining simulation with solid match mechanics, “WWE 2K25” offers a few hours of fun. Nevertheless, the game feels like a minimal update in many areas rather than a real step forward. Those who were able to get to grips with the previous mechanics will also be satisfied with this release - but those hoping for major innovations will be disappointed.

Despite having amazing core gameplay, 2K25 offers half-baked content that brings down the experience

2K is back with another installment of its fighting game par excellence. We will continue to have a faithful recreation of the superstars, with their gestures, techniques and grips. We will not lack game modes to play both offline and online, and if we like Wrestling we will be hooked for a long time to its variables.

WWE 2K25 continues to be the unrivaled champion and with the high variety of content it really provides a long-term gaming experience for fans of the sport. There is still room for improvement and nobody really needed “The Island”, but with so many other great new features and the general quality, the title has a lot to recommend it

WWE 2K25 offers solid gameplay and exciting additions, but VC reliance and underdeveloped modes make it worth waiting for WWE 2K26 unless you're a hardcore wrestling fan.

On the one hand, "WWE 2K25" delivers an incredibly entertaining wrestling spectacle that, while still having technical weaknesses, has evolved in many areas. Thanks to its massive scope and enormous recognition, combined with the rich community and creative features, wrestling fans can sink weeks and months into the game.

If you’ve played the last 2-3 entries in the WWE2K series, you know what to expect, except better. More wrestlers, more features (new and returning), and a plethora of gameplay value. If you’ve been on the fence, whether since the disastrous 2K20 or a previous era of wrestling gaming, WWE 2K25 is the best game to pick up if you’re looking to step back into the virtual squared circle. Yes, there are some annoyances like DLC (I wish New Jack and Guilia would’ve been available from the start), lack of accessibility features, and questionable character/render design, but the core game is jampacked with content that will keep you hooked until next year. Question is: How can they improve on a near perfect formula? Highly recommended.

"With these yearly 2K sports games, you’re really getting the same thing as last year but with a sprinkling of something extra... Which isn't a bad thing!"

WWE 2K25 improves on everything seen in the previous chapter. The gameplay is now smoother, adding mechanics that make fights more realistic and fun. The real strength of the game, however, is the monstrous amount of content and modes ensuring hundreds of hours of fun with friends and non-friends alike. The Island further enhances WWE's offerings, even if the microtransactions are just too overwhelming. In any case, WWE 2K25 achieves its goal: to entertain and amuse. A title that fans should definitely not miss.

WWE 2K25 offers a lot of new possibilities for fans of wrestling entertainment with an impressive roster and various improvements and additions. Some problems from earlier games remain however, and with the egregious microtransactions in The Island, the game is held back from the same greatness as its coverstar Roman Reigns.

WWE 2K25 builds on the series with new mechanics like chain wrestling, Bloodline Rules matches, and Giant class stamina. The roster is massive, and modes like MyGM and Showcase add plenty to do, but animations still have issues, and targeting in multi-man matches can be frustrating. The Island mode has potential but leans too hard on microtransactions. It’s not a game-changer, but if you’re into WWE, there’s a lot here to enjoy.

WWE 2K25 is about as good as it gets. From the plenty of modes to its staggering presentation, Visual Concepts has not only made the best entry in the series, but one of the best games of the year so far.

These yearly sports title releases can be tough to review. I don’t get to live in them like so many people reading this will choose to do. From someone who has reviewed the last few, this one feels like a solid iteration on what last year accomplished. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel so much as refines it to run more smoothly. WWE 2K25 is a big game, with an enormous amount of content on offer whether you’re into the online part of it or not.
