WWE 2K25 is arguably the best WWE game of recent years, with its large roster of wrestlers and good visuals. However, it loses some of its appeal due to its focus on microtransactions and the weak The Island mode.

WWE 2K25 isn’t a step up from WWE 2K24. If anything, it’s more of a considerable downgrade. The gameplay has improved, but the content leaves much to be desired. Moreover, the Bloodline Showcase mode is a very unpleasant experience.

WWE 2K25 will bring you back to the wrestling show! With improved visuals, animations and a variety of game modes, we can argue that this is a really good WWE game. Apart from a few technical bugs and the lack of The Island mode on PC, we can guarantee that this is a game that will get you ready for the ring.

WWE 2K25 is the most complete entry yet, with enhanced graphics, smoother animations, and new features. The Showcase mode, focused on the Anoa’i family and Roman Reigns, shines with Paul Heyman’s narration. Mixed matches return after 16 years, a third-person camera adds realism, and “MyRise” unifies male and female storylines. The only downside is “The Island” mode, which struggles with technical issues and limited content.

I had a great time with WWE 2K25. Wrestling fans are in for another great year, and I believe that anyone who enjoys the sport or is curious about it will find a lot to enjoy here.

WWE 2K25 offers familiar gameplay with minor additions like new match types, but struggles to innovate significantly. The showcase mode is repetitive, and MyRise feels stripped back compared to previous entries. "The Island" mode is poorly presented and the pay-to-win elements quickly get in the way. While MyGM online is a positive, the game largely retreads old ground, resulting in a decent but unexceptional wrestling experience with inconsistent visuals.

WWE 2K25 refines its core gameplay with improved stamina mechanics and engaging match types like Bloodline Rules but plays it too safe. While enjoyable, its outdated animations and monetization issues hold it back from being a true evolution.

Despite the fact that the main wrestling gameplay is getting to the point I can no longer compete, I am still finding a good deal to enjoy in WWE 2K25. I do hope the team can make an effort to listen to the feedback of those with low vision and add options in the next game to make it more playable.

WWE 2K25 will stay on the top wrestling games no doubt, but that doesn't mean there's no room for improvements, even if small. Having totally customizable mixed matches along with excellent modes and an ever bigger roster makes any fan happy. However, the Island that was so promising didn't deliver anything big, and MyFaction gets ever more tiring and unappealing.

So how do you sum up that this is probably the best wrestling game I’ve played in a long time? Yes, even when compared to the Smackdown Vs Raw era. With so many game modes to play, as well as more event types than I’ve ever seen, WWE 2K25 brings you the ultimate in Wrestling experiences. Giving you the experience that you’ve been wanting for many years. 2K Sports have really hit the top rope with this one. The only thing stopping me from giving this the highest award is the micro-transactions within the game. However, I know there are many people out there who enjoy this feature in games. And so WWE 2K25 gets the Thumb Culture Gold Award.

In conclusion, WWE 2K25 comes across as a well-crafted and content-rich title. With impressive graphics, engaging gameplay, and a large roster, the game succeeds in capturing the essence of professional wrestling. Although it has some imperfections and critical issues, the overall quality and new features (including Showcase and the related “The Bloodline” and the ability to play MyGM online) make it -- if you are a wrestling fan or simply looking for a fun and engaging game and provided you turn a blind eye to the invasive microtransactions of The Island and MyFaction -- a highly recommended purchase.

"Comprehensive and fun, embodying the spirit of WWE" WWE 2K25 builds on previous improvements, offering a smoother and more enjoyable wrestling experience thanks to new additions and improvements to mechanics and various modes. The Showcase mode highlights historic moments in a new cinematic style, while MyRise and MyGM add significant depth for fans of the individual and managerial modes. Despite some flaws, such as The Island's reliance on virtual currencies and some AI issues, WWE 2K25 remains a comprehensive and enjoyable wrestling experience for fans of the series.

WWE 2K25 delivers another fantastic entry in the series, building on the foundation of previous games with cool improvements that add to the authenticity of each match. The in-ring action remains excellent, the variety of modes ensures there are PLENTY of ways to lay the smackdown on your opponent, whilst the refinements to modes such as MyRise, Showcase, and MyGM give players a rich and engaging array of gameplay experiences. It is a little disappointing that The Island is underwhelming, but with every other aspect of the game seeing worthwhile refinements, it’s easy to see that WWE 2K25 deserves its main event status.

All in all, WWE 2K25 is pretty much all you’ll need for your pro wrestling fix in gaming. It has more modes and superstars than any one person can reasonably play with in a year, and while the Island is underwhelming, there is so much other good stuff it’s easy enough to overlook this. That it looks and plays better than ever in the ring is just icing on an already dense cake.

WWE 2K25 improves and refines the already good previous version, but the new The Island mode feels too immature and tied to microtransactions, while the arena crowds are still not up to par with the rest of the simulation. It's an update that takes the series a step forward, but it still doesn't scream miracle.

Visual Concepts are coming into their own with their yearly wrestling entries, as WWE 2K25 really feels like the best in a decade. Monetization however casts a shadow over the improvements, giving an unprotected chair shot to the final product right before lift-off.

WWE 2K25 builds on last years foundations, with increased polish and upgrades to provide an experience that plays better than last years whilst trying out some fresh new modes. The Island probably needed another years work for a more seamless, enjoyable playthrough.

WWE 2K25 is fun to play, fun to dig into, and it’s even kind of fun to disparage the parts carelessly thrown in to be “best for business.”
