MARVEL Cosmic Invasion Reviews
With its inclusion in Game Pass Ultimate (a shame we have to differentiate) it’s definitely worth checking out.
With plenty of characters and great combat, there is a lot to love about Marvel Cosmic Invasion. The fantastic visuals and sound design shine through from Tribute Games and Dotemu. It's just a shame that the game's difficulty spikes and lack of extra lives in the campaign hold it back. Thankfully, the Arcade Mode more than makes up for the game's shortcomings, with great modifiers that let you enjoy the game however you want.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion does little to surprise, but it executes excellently on its retro beat-'em-up ambitions. Depth perception can be a problem, but we like how the tag-team format gives the game a bit more of a chaotic feel, especially during local and online co-op sessions. And we also appreciate how each superhero handles slightly differently, adding a lot of replay value to a brawler that already has a relatively robust content offering.
I can't put my finger on why this game isn't perfect, but it's all the things I want in a modern beat 'em up. You can your friends will have a lot of fun. Play it solo, only if you have to. After all, it's Mah-vel baby!
Tribute Games has delivered a top-notch experience. While it has a few minor flaws, its strengths are undeniable, and Marvel Cosmic Invasion stands out as an experience that no Marvel or beat 'em up fan can afford to miss. This adventure clearly showcases the talent of this team and the place Earth's Mightiest Heroes hold in the industry.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion packs all the punch you’d expect from a comic book splash page. It’s clearly made with the kind of love for the source material that I’m looking for, and it improves on Shredder’s Revenge in every way that matters to me.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion is another fantastic beat 'em up from developer Tribute Games. With a large cast of heroes and the tag-team system, Cosmic Invasion offers a fresh experience for fans of the genre.

MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is an excellent excuse to play a satisfying beat 'em up with friends. Covering a wide variety of content and characters from the comics, there's an Easter Egg for everyone yet the gameplay can grow repetitive after awhile.
MARVEL Cosmic Invasion delivers one of the best modern Marvel beat 'em up experiences in years. With authentic character personalities, sharp animations, and nonstop comic-book energy, it feels made for longtime Marvel fans. A deeper X-Men and Fantastic Four roster would have elevated it even more, but the core gameplay is outstanding.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a perfectly fine game, one that pays homage to not only the beat-em-up genre but takes clear inspiration from seminal titles such as Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
A loving homage to the Marvel Comics of old, a fitting adaptation of the Annihilation Saga and an incredible beat 'em up in its own right, Marvel Cosmic Invasion is simply fantastic.
If you're someone who genuinely likes the genre, or think that you and your friends will want to do several runs through the game's 16 stages, then it'll definitely be worth the price. However, if you only see yourself wanting to do a single playthrough and then move on, it might be worth thinking twice about the cost-to-gameplay ratio.
Marvel: Cosmic Invasion is a triumphant, beautiful, fun romp across the entire Marvel Universe and cosmos. With a varied roster of heroes, and an easy to pick up control scheme and campaign, it's an accessible adventure into the Marvel Universe for any type of fan.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a small but heartfelt tribute to fans of the Marvel universe. It's an old-school experience that shows once again how the world of video games never gets tired of the arcade feel of the past. There's a bit of disappointment about the lack of extra content, but Tribute Games' effort is still something to admire.

MARVEL Cosmic Invasion builds on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge with a more modernized approach, ultimately delivering strong combat feel and smooth, responsive action. But relying so heavily on well-worn, proven design also caps its ceiling, keeping it from ever reaching a truly impressive high.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a really good yet simple game. It’s laser focused, knows its target audience and delivers in spades. Marvel Cosmic Invasion feels like a Saturday morning cartoon made interactive by the fine folks at Tribute games. If you’re anything like yours truly and stuck in arrested development, clinging to nostalgia like a safety blanket – keep an eye on their future releases, they know their stuff.
The game shines in it's content and rich combinations between the Marvel heroes, but it does fall short in terms of visuals and art direction

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a fantastic 2D beat ’em that cleverly leans into its bright and colorful comic book roots, that any Marvel fan of even finds a way to pay tribute to its 2D Fighting games in the process. It has the most evolved beat ’em up gameplay yet, with modern touches and a charming and large roster of characters that keep the action fresh. While some design choices do hold it back slightly, a clear love of the source material make this pixel art beat em up, an easy recommended must play.
MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is a very interesting beat’em’up that’s short, but sweet. It has a wonderful story, one that seems to be taken right out of the comic books. But it’s something new, refreshing, and it allows us to control iconic Marvel characters, along with lesser-known ones.
