Dragon's Dogma is a great game that feels unique among fantasy RPGs thanks to its blend of mechanics and influences. Its flaws - repetitive quests and a somewhat aimless structure - don't block out its enormous strengths. Its core combat is great, and fighting the game's array of giant beasts is some of the most fun I've ever had in an RPG. And this PC version is absolutely the best way to play it.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is a four-year-old game wrapped in slightly better visuals.

As I've already mentioned, Capcom did an absolutely stellar job at bringing this title to PC. Unlike games such as Final Fantasy Type-0 HD which came with some graphical upgrades, still suffered from a capped framerate at 30fps. Thanks Square Enix! So the fact that the game is so good along with it being a great port should solidify this purchase for those who might have missed out on this game during the last generation of consoles, like myself.

Dragon's Dogma on PC is the best version of the game. It's charming and fun as the day it came out but this time at a higher resolution and better frame rate. The game engine shows its age but it's not enough to make this game less of a masterpiece.

Dragon's Dogma has a lot of flaws, but the gameplay, sound, and exploration (especially in the endgame and optional dungeon) are simply so good. If you're into action RPGs and think you can handle the obvious flaws, you owe it to yourself to experience just how good this distinctively Japanese twist on class based ARPG combat can really be.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen still looks and feels just as good as it did way back in 2012 and I love it just as much now as I did then. It's a solid RPG that offers you that little bit extra and you will easily get hundreds of hours out of it if you're willing to put it the graft, which you can do a hell of a lot easier now you can take it on the go.

Fortunately, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen on Nintendo Switch is the same, great fantasy action-RPG released in 2012 and in 2017.

As it stands, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen for the PC is a fun romp with fantastic combat mechanics and an interesting pawn system. Granted it pales in comparison to contemporary role-playing games in terms of lore and environments, but the reasonable price and slew of additions for PC games ensure there's little cause for complaint. If you've already played the game on a console, you might not be interested as there is no new content, but if you missed it the last time around, then it's not a bad buy.

There are also a handful of other neat features that raise it in my estimation.  It's a PC port of a three year old console game, which means system requirements are very light.  The gameplay is a healthy challenge.  It's good value for money.  All in all it's such a charming and engaging piece of work that as soon as I've wrapped this review up I'll be straight back on it.  So farewell.

While technically the game may not be as impressive as others, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is special.

With an interesting story, a very good combat system and the pawn sharing, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is a must-play game for those who love RPG and adventure. Although the remastered version doesn't seem to be much better than the original one, and doesn't bring any kind of novelty, it's its content that makes the game one of the best of its genre.

.A Japanese RPG with a western flavor, one that will satisfy those looking for deep combat and a world full of surprises. Those looking for a deep and engaging story, though, might need to look elsewhere.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen might have lost some of its original appeal now that there are more options available for an open world action RPG but it still holds a certain charm. The game offers a combat experience that has managed to hold up well through the years.

The world of Gransys is certainly not as large as Skyrim nor as dense as From Software's Souls series, but it feels lived in and filled with sights and mysteries that beg you to step outside your comfort zone

The "anything goes" style of game design employed by Dragon's Dogma is destined to fuel endless discussion regarding its pros and cons. It's no exception to the jack of all trades adage, but it has almost mastered enough things that it transcends the faceless, homogeneous garbage that such attempts at broad appeal usually result in. It's best described as consistently imperfect, which is more of a recommendation than it sounds. After all, a report card of straight Bs is preferable to one that's half A, half F.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is a great RPG that can really shine on more powerful hardware. Without any restrictions to the graphical fidelity and frame rate, players can appreciate the game's depth and engaging combat system. Although real multiplayer would've been nice, the pawn system more than makes up for it, and the sheer amount of content and a New Game+ mode makes this an experience to savor. Unless you're burned out by open-world RPGs, Dragon's Dogma is worth checking out.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen for the PC delivers a compelling RPG experience with great combat mechanics and a varied world to explore. It can be quite tough if you're trying to speed through the main quest, but patient players who complete side quests and gear up their character, as well as their Pawns, will find plenty of things to enjoy in Capcom's RPG.
