Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Reviews
While the original issues are still present, what made Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen so special is here as well. Glorifying combat, organic progression, and a saturated world will keep you slogging through the occasional lull on your way to the heart of it.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen has its rough spots, but it dreamed big. It has much better action in it than most others of its kind, and it won't push players into becoming a murder-hobo. This is Hideaki Itsuno's big Dungeons & Dragon's campaign, and he is the DM. Gransys is a sizeable world with a lot to see and do, and that can now be on the go.
Dragon's Dogma is a rare and special title that, even when removed from its initial launch, continues to enthrall, surprise, and delight.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen still looks and feels just as good as it did way back in 2012 and I love it just as much now as I did then. It's a solid RPG that offers you that little bit extra and you will easily get hundreds of hours out of it if you're willing to put it the graft, which you can do a hell of a lot easier now you can take it on the go.
Fortunately, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen on Nintendo Switch is the same, great fantasy action-RPG released in 2012 and in 2017.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen undoubtedly stands out as a compelling adventure with a lot of original ideas in terms of its systems. So, for any hardcore RPG fan, it’s pretty darn close to a must play.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen has already been released a handful of times on different consoles, and this port doesn't add anything new. The ability to play in handheld mode is great, but this version also comes with some pop-in and framerate drops not present in other releases. Still, it's worth it just to experience one of the most overlooked games of the decade again, or for the first time. If Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen's stellar combat, unique class system, and treacherous world hook you, its technical flaws are extremely easy to overlook.
I’m going to start this review off in a manner befitting of Capcom’s latest behemoth offering on the Nintendo Switch, go and buy Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen NOW. Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is a really fun action RPG that can now come with you on the go. It does have a few technical issues but Dragon’s Dogma always has never been a perfect game on any platform when it comes to overall performance. For the asking price and amount of value on offer you won’t find a better party based action rpg on the Nintendo Switch. Fans of high fantasy will have a blast with this release.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is out now for Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. Why not pick up a copy? EU/US
All in all, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is fun. The combat is enjoyable, the exploration is entertaining, and the story is amusing in a ridiculous sort of way. It's just a great game. It has flaws, including inconsistent difficulty and repetitive content, but on the Switch, these aren't serious enough issues to drag down the excellent gameplay. It's an aging game that you've probably had the chance to play on another system, but it's still incredibly enjoyable, and the Switch's portability arguably makes it the definitive version. Dragon's Dogma on the Switch is a must-have for fans of action-RPGs.
Discover the world of Gransys on the go in this great port of a cult classic.
Still, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is a highly competent RPG and, who knows, maybe this release is a sign a sequel is finally on the horizon.
Dragon's Dogma stands the test of time and is excellently recreated on Switch.
Whilst not every aspect of the game completely works, and players searching for an epic fantasy narrative may be left cold, the deep combat and exciting exploration kept me hooked the whole way through.
This is a game that very much stands as having its own identity, leaving us with just one question: When is Capcom going to get around to making the next one?
If you’ve played Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen to death elsewhere, this Switch port obviously isn’t going to offer you anything new. If you still find yourself wanting to enter the world of Gransys or haven’t yet ventured into it, however, it offers plenty of adventure.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen on Nintendo Switch shows the title has certainly aged. While the visuals are not on par with other titles, it still has plenty of moments that will appeal to hardcore RPG fans. Given the amount of time players can invest, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen retains its charm despite shortcomings. Though, if you don't care about the portable aspect, the Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 versions will give you a better overall experience.
