Deep Dish Dungeon Reviews
Deep Dish Dungeon is a fun, quirky little expedition that offers challenging combat and fun food crafting, set in a retro dark fantasy world.
Deep Dish Dungeon attempts to blend dungeon crawling with survival crafting, but never truly manages to make this combination work. It's still an interesting time full of exploration and puzzles, assuming you don't go in alone.
Deep Dish Dungeon is a pleasant surprise. It takes an old-school approach to exploration, giving you the freedom to wander, experiment and figure things out without constantly pointing you towards the next objective. The puzzles and environmental interactions are the real stars here, and the satisfaction of solving something through your own efforts is what kept me interested. The survival mechanics and limited inventory can sometimes interrupt that flow, particularly when playing solo, but they don’t completely overshadow the experience. This isn’t a game for everyone. If you want clear objectives, regular guidance and a fast-paced adventure, you might find its deliberate pace frustrating. But if you enjoy exploring mysterious places, getting a little lost and slowly piecing together the answers, there’s something worthwhile waiting here. I enjoyed my time with Deep Dish Dungeon, and I’d be interested in trying it in co-op to see how much more enjoyable those discoveries become with a friend along for the ride.
Deep Dish Dungeon is big on simplicity: a map-less, torch-lit dungeon crawler where survival, crafting and eureka-moment puzzles reward patient exploration, though imprecise hitboxes and some frustrating fights hold it back a notch.

Deep Dish Dungeon won me over with its immersive atmosphere and the satisfaction of learning to navigate its ruins. The claustrophobic sound design, lighting, and interconnected architecture turn observation into part of the adventure, while cooking and crafting give purpose to preparing for each expedition. The limited inventory, the need to return to camp, and the absence of a map or compass demand patience, but I appreciate how these choices make knowing the layout just as valuable as the resources I gather. It is an adventure that is already compelling on its own, yet leaves me eager to return with others to discover what still lies in the darkness.

Despite clunky controls and a punishing early game, Deep Dish Dungeon evolves into a highly rewarding survival-metroidvania. Mastering its intricate, hand-crafted world offers deeply satisfying progression.
